Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 1:15 pm)
Thanks for the help. This may well be the solution. Since you obviously know of these matters, I’m having a related problem I'd like to ask you about. My original figure imports at the size of the Rhodes Colossus. In Poser, I scale down to about 14%. When you memorize a figure, does the scaled down size become 100%?

Quote - Load the loincloth by itself (not conformed to anything). Make sure everything is zeroed, especially hip and body translations. Memorise the figure, and save to the library (under a different name if you're uncertain about anything).
Also, you'll probably want to remove any IK chains from the conformer, assuming it has any.
"Have you tried adjusting the spherical fall off zones on the loin cloth?" Not yet. I'll try that if the problem persists after I've imported my models into Poser at the proper scale. Right now the loincloth fit is the least of my worries because the change in scale has made it necessary to recreate all of my morphs. One step forward, two steps back...

"Can you bring the new scale back into Lightwave and transfer the endomorphs?" That's a good idea, actually. If this works it will save a lot of time. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

It's been my experience that turning off IK for both the figure and the object in question (boots in my case) seemed to fix the problem. Ultimately, becasue it was impractical to always have IK turned off, I think I ended up offsetting the geometry for the boots before bringing into the Setup Room and rigging it by attaching the boots to the figures skeleton to compensate for the shift.
There probably was a logical explanation for the behavior, but I just decided to work around it.
