Has anybody got a guide to installing new clothes i have downloaded a couple from here but when i extracted the file to the poser folder it didnt work!(didnt appear in the library)

and also is it possible to edit facial expression, other than the presets. I cant find any tools to do so and when i select the head it just moves the whole head?

first look in the zip to make sure it has the right folder heirarchy: runtime/libraries/character/ (etc).
if it does then unzipping it into the poser directory should work.

The figures that come with Poser include limited face morpjhs; Add-on figures like M3. V3-4, etc have morph packs available separately. Make sure you have any morph packs if you're using an add-on figure.

Which version of Poser are you using? and which clothing packs are you trying to install?
It will make it easier for people to give you advice if we know exactly what you're working with.

Well, first, what version are you using? P4 and under can be done by spinning dials when selecting the face, 5 and up have face rooms (well, 5 does, that's as far as I get)

Poser looks in selected directories for parts of those clothes. If they don't go in the right place, sometimes you'll get that. What some do is.

Create a temp directory
unzip the item there
look at what directories are created, and move them into place.

hope that helps.

Are you sure that you've downloaded clothes and not just textures for clothes? Have a look in the zip and see if there's actually a cr2 (and/or an obj file) - if all there is are .jpg's and .pz2's, then it's a matpose with textures, not actual clothing.

I remember falling into that trap a few times when I started out with Poser (only, at the time, MAT poses hadn't been invented yet LOL)

I'm not sure what you mean about expressions? Which character are you using? There should be morphs present on the head to change the expression to whatever you want :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

If it's a conforming cloth, it should be unzipped in your Runtimelibrairiescharacter folder.

Welcome to Poser :)

I've compiled some information for the new poser user. You can find it in the following threads. You should find some of it helpful to you, including a link to an image that shows you where the various files for Poser go in your runtime:

Suggestions on Getting Organized

"It is good to see ourselves as others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not angry with our critics but will take in good
