Subject: Cameras in animations - Help!

First of all, thanks for your help. Now the tough part... How can I change cameras during an animation? I've tried turning off and on the key, that didn't work. I've tried flat lining the camera in the linear graph, but it will not switch over to the other camera... Any ideas??? Thanks again!

To switch cameras between frame n and frame n+1, move the camera between those two frames, and at both frames "break spline" in the camera's movement parameter dials.

But how do you tell it to use the other camera?

You don't. For the same reason as I sometimes wanted to change a model or prop's parentage during a movie run but I can't.

So basically you have to "break spline", re-adjust the main camera to whatever you wanted from the other camera, "break spline" again, and re-adjust the camera over and over again until you're done... That sure seems like a lot of hassle. Kinda deters that kind of creativity when trying to make an animation... Another question... Is there any way to have more than one graph on screen at a time? This would sure make it easier to make adjustments! Like x,y,z movements of say, an arm or shoulder. Is this something I should try to relay to the designers for Poser 5??? Or is this wishful thinking? Thanks for your help!

And I wish I could see the cameras! Once I wanted to hide one of my frogman model's eyeballs and put a camera in the socket parented to his head, to show what he saw through his mask. It was a real right performance. In Bryce it was easier, as there the "Director" camara can see the "Camera" camera (but not vice versa).

How can I change cameras during an animation? Save the animation of the part with the one camera, then save the part with the other camera as a separate animation. You can even use the same PZ3 file for both animations if you want. Then put the two animations together. >>> Once I wanted to hide one of my frogman model's eyeballs and put a camera in the socket parented to his head Use the "dolly camera" for this, the x,y,z coordinates of it are its location, not where it is looking. Maybe you can even copy the eyeball's coordinates and paste them to the dolly camera, I haven't tried that sort of thing myself...
