Subject: Does D/S work with Widows Vista ? And other questions

KFG ( ) posted Sat, 28 July 2007 at 7:18 PM · edited Wed, 19 February 2025 at 10:55 AM

I am interested in D/S, and have some questions.

Does it work with Widows Vista?

Is it easy to move stuffs from Poser to D/S?
Any good tutorial?

How good is the cooperation with Carrara5Pro.
Poser worked with Carrara very nicely.   They had TransPoser.
However,  probably they don’t work together in the future.

Are they going to make something like Transposer for D/S and Carrara ?

The rendering speed of Poser is very slow compared to Carrara.
How is D/S?

Thank you.
KFG

Have you thought to look in the DAZ forums for your answers?I'm sure you would get much more advice there.

HI KFG

I use Daz Studio in a Vista Home Premium here with no problem, just make shure that your video card support Opengl 2.0 and it will run ok.
About Carrara lets wait more one week to see the launch of the version 6 at Siggraph. Daz announced content support like in Daz Studio inside Poser, but until now they only showed the ocean tool in the Daz forum.

Incognitas, and GKDantas
Thank you for your responses.

As you suggested, I asked the same questions at DAZ Forum.
I am going to try D/S.

We may have to choose D/S and Carrara or Poser and Vue in future ?

They are different softwares:

D|S almost is the same as Poser

Carrara is a complete 3D pack with modeler options, landscape and render

Vue is more landscape generator and render.

I'm running Daz 1.7 on Vista Ultimate x64 and it seems to be working (for right now).
