Hi all,

Is anyone else having problems getting into the daz3d website today. when I put it in my browser and go, Norton comes up with an access violation, thats says something along the lines of a website has tried to illegally access your system, and my proccessor then starts working at 100% and won't stop without a reboot.

Apparently  a piece of software on the daz site is trying to access machines and read tiff files etc.

so just wanted to know if anyone else had ecountered strangeness at daz today, also the website won't load up.

No problems for me, I notice you use Nortons, it's prolly that!

Dumped them years ago because of problems and if you read a lot of threads here there are many that say the same.
I wouldn't have Nortons anywhere near my machine!

I always think Norton should be spelled Crap - that's probably most of your problem right there.

haven't used Norton since pre-Windows days, when I used it to undelete files..;)

The only thing I have from Norton on my system is Ghost and, as soon as I finish the upgrade and have the $$, it's going away as well.  I'll be moving over to the Acronis True Image software.  I already have their Disk Management Suite and it's brilliant.

Same weirdness for me to access DAZ, and Norton installed too... :bored:

I guess i have to get rid of it, but as i paid for it, i will go through the whole paid year...

2 choices I'm afraid..

1: Wait for Daz to become aware of the Problem and fix it so they don't trigger Norton anymore,
or 2: Remove Norton (recommended) and use different software.

seems Daz are now aware of the problem and are looking into it.

(still get rid of Norton tho!)

I don't know what happened to Norton. Some years ago they offered a fairly decent suite of products, but I wouldn't advise anyone to put their stuff on a computere these days unless they actually enjoy being driven crazy by constant bugginess.
AVG has proven to be a far more reilable and helpful product for me. If you don't want to pay for Pro, the free version seems to be just as good.

Yep, I'm with AVG and wouldn't have anything else! I have the pro version running on my pc and the Wifes laptop!!

DO NOT GET RID OF YOUR AV. That is stupid to even suggest to someone get of their protection just so they access Daz. Kidding, right? Its not Norton its Daz and their crappy new eyesore website design that everyone raved about thats the problem. I use Advast Free Eidtion. It's stops viruses in their tracks. No fuss, no nothing and it works without bells & whistles.

As an ex-Norton user, I agree. It's not easy getting it completely off your system, either. It never caught anything it should have anyway. AVG is less a system drain, actually does what it's supposed to, and costs a heck of a lot less. I don't think anyone is suggesting people run without an AV, just run with one that doesn't choke your machine, or set off alarms every time you turn around. As an aside, I've spent more time at DAZ since the makeover, and have had no problems navigating or purchasing.. and using Opera, that's not the norm. (Nor do I find DAZ an eyesore.)

I don't have any problems with accessing DAZ and I use Norton! O.o

Update your Internet Explorer to the newest version .... or better yet, get Firefox.

Xena may be right, I use Firefox, wouldn't use anything else!

except the error is in Norton not Firefox ;) so, swtiching to Firefox won't actually solve the problem lol

Isn't the error a IE/Norton related issue?

only in that Norton is saying it's an attack on IE so it's blocking it. you don't need IE for Norton to do that ;)

he's not said which version of Norton he's running or which update set... I think thats why it's proving to be a problem to track down.

tho I still recommend dumping norton and getting something better.

I'm running the latest version of Norton, Zone Alarm Pro and Firefox, not a problem so far - fingers crossed!

I whole-heatedly agree with getting rid of Norton and getting something better...Norton is full of holes.

I run AVG Pro, and Firefox..haven't had a problem yet.

Now i can access again to DAZ. I use Norton 2007 on my both computers, Firefox on one, IE on the other, but both were enable to load correctly DAZ website.
