A few days ago I needed info on vertice count before trying a little experiment. Thanks to a few helpful folks, I've so far had success! Before I explain the pic above, I'd like to see how quick all of you can guess which model(mesh) was used. This shouldn't be too hard but, then again, there's a lot of figures to choose from here lately!

Have fun!

V4's head on Aiko's body?

Good guesses everyone! And SamTherapy got it right.....V2!

Now, about the pic: it's V2 with face_off's HyperREAL for V3 and a converted-from-V3 texture by Anja Möbius Nouschka (Ginger for V3). The morph is what I call "Maria", which I made back before getting V3. I recently found this morph on my "old poser stuff" CD and decided to add it to my new runtimes (which are taking forever to complete). Here's what Maria used to look like:

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=597175

After loading her into P7 I thought "What a shame that I can't use her with HyperREAL". Then I thought...why not? So then I used notepad with a LOT of guessing and well....IT WORKED!!    I then realized that my backwoods-redneck routine would work for any model! So now I'm looking at Judy and Posette in a whole new light!

The thing is, I'd like to share how I did this but, I'm positive that would infringe upon face_off's copyright. So no dice! However, I suppose I could contact him and see what he thinks about me posting how I did this. That way, V4's grandma won't end up in the "Land of Forgotten Meshes"!

Whatcha think? Do any of you still use V2 and will this come in handy for ya?

It was the shape of the mouth that gave the model away more than anything.  AFAIK, there's only V2 has that particular shape.

**cyberscape, cool. Thanks for sharing. face_off does give the instructions for this mod on his website forum in regards to his RealSkinShader script. Probably the same method used there is what works for his other products. It describes how to adapt RealSkinShader to Miki with a quick edit but on the same script I have added the Posette, Dork, V2, M2, Miki, Apollo and V4. face_off is a very generous guy and I think people should support him with purchases, he is responsible for an incredible advance in realism for Poser. The heads up to everyone cyberscape :)

Sorry I don't have the URL at hand but check the face-off RealSkinShader FAQ.**

I have no problem with people modifying the script - in fact I'm all for it!  As long as the render quality is not compromised by forcing the Hyperreal product to use different uv maps - since than the Hypereal specular/SSS/displacement/spots maps would not match the figure.

@momodot: Thanks for the heads up on RSS. SERIOUSLY...I wasn't aware of that forum until now! Which means I just did all of  this the hard way...by learning on the spot! That's a good thing though, as learning never hurts anyone

@face_off: Thanks for the reply! And also for creating SSS! I'm constantly amazed at what some folks can discover with Poser and it's material room!
As for the specular/SSS/displacement/spots maps, I ran all of those through the Universal Texture Converter along with the V3 texture and placed all of these new files into a separate folder for V2. Then I edited the MATPrep file (which is about 900 miles long) and the python script. The tricky part (which Ockham helped me with), was telling the script to use V2 instead of V3 by changing the vertice count and some of the material zones. All told, this took me about 8 hours over two nights and the results make me very happy!!!

BTW face_off, here's a scarey question for ya: Would it be possible to automate the HR script so that it could be used for animation? I'm figuring, as far as rendering out to stills, this could be possible....except that Poser would probably go nuclear!!! Any ideas?

For RSS to do animation, simply turn off the fake-SSS.  The new V4 Skin Realism Kit has 2 fake-SSS's - 1 light position based and the other is intensity based - so for animation you can switch off the light position based SSS and run with the intensity based solution and it looks great.
