“The fact that no one understands you…Doesn’t make you an artist.”
If you look at the timestamp...you'll notice P Posted only a couple of minutes after my previous post...LOL
So...it only took me a couple minutes for me to write it.
And if you believe that...I've got a bridge in New York that I'll sell you...lol
No...for real...that little Poem has been circling the internet for nearly 10 years now...lol
I Didn't write it. But I wish I knew who the original Another was, because I've always thought it was pretty cool.
Thanks for the fun.

are the programmers still tweaking this enhancement?
i ask because though i have notifications currently turned Off, i did receive an e-bot telling me i had an IM waiting for me... i should add that i only received one notification, but actually had 3 IMs from 2 different people. the e-bot was generated for one of the two IMs sent by the same person, one of which was to join their Friends List. i didn't bother opening the e-bot email [which i should have i guess], so i don't know if it was the Friends List IM that generated the e-bot or the other IM from the person...
if it happens again, i'll try to get more info on it for you & the programmers, Stacey...
I did find out today that it wasn't sending notifications if it was a friends request as those are 'automated' notifications sent to your sitemail. I brought it up to the programmer when I noticed I didn't receive a notification of a sitemail about a pending friends request. He is going to fix that.
So are you saying that you have never turned your notifications for emails regarding new sitemails ON but you still receive the notifications? Or you had them turned on then decided to turn them off and still received the ebots?
Just trying to get a handle on what happened so I can talk to the programmers:)
auh... i think i might have discovered something...
when last i was logged in, i made certain that my SiteMail Notification was set to "off"...
when i logged in a few minutes ago, i responded to an IM, hit "Send", looked up and the SiteMail Notification switched itself to "On". i turned it off again, responded to another IM, and again it turned itself back on...
i'm going to poke about for a few, logout, clear my cache & then come back to see if it turns itself "On" when i'm not here or through logging in or whatnot because something isn't sticking here...
well, when i left the SiteMail area a few minutes ago, i had it set to "Off"... was going to go logout and clear the cache, etc., but decided to double-check that i had it set to "Off"... 'lo & behold, i went to SiteMail and it's back on again... very strange... sigh... going to go clear my cache now and try again...
logged out, cleared out the cache, closed browser down, opened up browser, cleared cache again, came here, logged in, and my notification has turned itself back on again...
**So are you saying that you have never turned your notifications for emails regarding new sitemails ON but you still receive the notifications? Or you had them turned on then decided to turn them off and still received the ebots?

to answer your question directly, Stacey, they were in their default state when first implemented [Off]. i saw the link in SiteMail before ever seeing anything regarding what it was for and clicked the link to see what it did/governed. immediately after that, i found this thread, thought "nope nope nope, don't want no stinkin' e-bots" and went directly back into SiteMail & turned them off, so in essence they were turned on by me for p'raps all of 5-7 minutes yesterday, early afternoonish. it has only been today that things have been acting up as i had no issues with anything yesterday, and it was today i received an e-bot or two though i had it set to "Off" as far as i knew... like i said above, it's turning itself on, but i'm not able to truly determine what the impetus is for that...
any other information i can maybe provide that i've not reported that could aid in resolving things, please let me know...
Okay thanks for the info. I'll talk to the programmers tomorrow and see what is going on. I'll also do some testing on my account as well so I can show him what it does:)
We'll let you know.
Giana, I swear you are good girl:) I love that you gather as much information for me as possible and test a few things yourself to provide even more useful information. LOVES IT :thumbupboth:
i'm becoming more & more convinced it has to do with something regarding the SiteMail itself...
i got tired of turning notifications off so i left the bloody thing on... wandered about the site some more, went back into SiteMail using the sidebar link, and they were, at that point, turned off... of course, now they're on again cause i went back a third time... lol...
but it would explain why i was getting e-bots for essentially every other IM/group of IMs...
Yeah of course its like telling the mechanic that your car is making a noise then he listens and it doesn't do it. I brought the programmer in here this morning and said "watch".. nothing, it stayed the same. The minute he went back to his office and sat down, I went and checked again and bam, it was turned back on. Its doing it to a few admin here in the office as well so something is definitely going on and its gotta be resolved.
Has anyone noticed that when you try to view a members wishlist it never shows. All I get at most is a homepage. How is someone to view another members wishlist so they can buy a gift for them? Maybe I just haven't figured it out yet but when you have a wishlist button link shouldn;t it bring you there? BorgBoy7 Resistance to the Girl is Futile....

Ok, nevermind I found out where the wishlists are located (In the users Store page for those that don't know ) but the link issue should still be resolved to bring you to the right page. BorgBoy7 Resistance to the Girl is Futile....
Hmmm what browser are you using? The FCK editor is still there.. You won't see it until you hit "reply" or "compose message" but its there and working as I just used it:) If you are just looking at a message sent to you its not there until you hit reply..you hit reply or compose message and you still don't see it?

The SiteMail now has a new feature that will allow you to receive an ebot on new sitemails. If you go to SITEMAIL on the sidebar you will see email notifications: on [turn off] .
All members are defaulted to NOT receive notifications and will have to Opt in to this by turning your notifications on.
Thanks
