Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 11:02 am)
Set up in Poser 6 then into Vue 6 Infinite and Cinema 4D XL for rendering for me. I have also rendered some characters in Modo, but it always needs some texture fixes, but the render is fast and SSS looks great when applied.
Even though I usually use Vue for rendering (just a lot less hassle to import), I feel its worse of the three I use, just because the render speed is like a crippled snail when compared to C4D and Modo.

--------------- A life?! Cool!! Where do I download one of those?---------------
PZ3 can be rendered in Vue, along with Poser materials. Characters and objects (with materials and animation) are usually only imported into Vue...camera and lights are not included.

another vote for Vue 6 - infinite this time and I often use SkinVue if there is a figure in there. I'd love Cinema 4D but I just can't afford it :(

Johnfields: Yes I import the whole Poser scene, characters, props, etc. with the Shader Tree option.
Bear in mind though, to do this I have a Mega pc, you couldn't do it with 2 Gig of RAM for instance.
You can import Poser stuff with that much RAM but Vue will make you work for it with it's memory issues which IMO it still has!!
Injustice will be avenged.
Cofiwch Dryweryn.
Firefly isn't a bad render engine - I just find the lighting and GI/GR cababilities of Vue better for 90% of the things I want to do

What exactly is in the scene? Can you show a screenshot of preview (before rendering)? It may be that the camera is outside a wall that in preview appears to be transparent, or something like that.
Also I recall that if you're using P7's external render, it can sometimes do something like that due to internet firewall settings (?)

What do you all use for rendering? - I have poser 7 and I have seen work that is rendered with vue and other programs - I would like to know what the other options are out there. I am running a Pentium 4 3.00GHz,
3.01GHz with 1.96GB of RAM
this is according to the properties tab on My Computer - I'm really not that technically proficient with a computer. I find that I have trouble with the more detailed and intricate renders and I would like some thoughts on alternatives - money is an issue.
