Subject: Mini (Car) is it sold anywhere?

shedofjoy ( ) posted Sun, 02 September 2007 at 9:16 AM · edited Sat, 02 November 2024 at 10:02 PM

Does anyone know where i can buy or download a Mini and not the newer BMW shape, i mean the older varient 1959-2000 (cant actually remember when they stopped making it so 2000 will do,lol)
I hope someone knows where i can locate one as i miss my old mini and would really love a Poser version to make up for my loss...lol

Hey mon, Check out this place for free vehicles http://dmi.chez-alice.fr/models1.html they have a free Mini Cooper S in the cars section. It links to an external site and you have to click a few more menus, but it's there. later jdc

And you can use Poseray to convert the lightwave models to .obj for use in Poser.

Car models are great, but then you need roads, sidewalks, stoplights, buildings, cities...

Acadia said "And you can use Poseray to convert the lightwave models to .obj for use in Poser" Argh! Poser had trouble loading the Lightwave file - even tho it says it can import them - must be for an earlier version of LW. Oh well. Another option is to load the ".lwo" into Wings3D and then re-save them as a new ".lwo" with everything intact or with edited changes. I've found that Poser and Wings3D get along fairly well. good luck jdc

Nah you don't.  How about landfill sites, alien abduction scenarios, acid trips, Italian subways, underwater...

The list is endless with a little thought.

SamTherapy's right.   Back in the Seventies, every British television programme, including the weather forecasts and "Scotland Today", was made in the same disused quarry in Hertfordshire.   That place must be stacked high with burnt-out Minis.

I think shadownet used to have a mini for sale. Maybe you could IM him. It was a poser mini I think and it even contained poses I think. Love esther

Attached Link: 1968 EU Compact Car

Sielke's 1968 EU Compact Car at Daz is the best example I've found - all the free ones were very short on detail. Okay for background use, but not as a feature. I found a free old-style minicooper in .3ds format. I imported it into Poser, changed the textures, and made it a prop. It's a site with lots of free cars. Acadia would know the link.

Good choice. Getting a Poser-ready car can help reduce your work-load. You may have saved yourself hours and hours of work trying to get the model to render well. However, for those of you who still want the free Mini, here is the direct link to the model. http://lynnart.net/models/transportation/minicooper/ take care jdc

Here in the States they call them Mini-Coopers... ...butt ugly little things but, like the Volkswagen Bug it kinda grows on you.
