Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 26 8:04 pm)
The problem I guess your having is that after creating a new prop in poser, the texture you are applying in the materials editor isn't being applied! Select the object you want to texture, open the group editor, Select All, for each material group and hit Create UV map. If you haven't created a UV you can't texture it.
The group editor is the icon at the top of the edit screen at the far right end of the row... with what looks like a dotted box in it. Be carefull using it though as you can do more damage than good if you don't watch what you do. The grouping tool is imprecise and a pain to use, but it is extremely useful if you want to re-assign a different texture to an item or part of an item or group of items. Anyway, the best way to figure it out is to play with it, but be careful. :)
Export the prop like .obj format. Use Uv mapper( free in the freestuff), open the esported model from poser in it, create a new Uv mapper, The you have the template of the model.Save the model, save the texture. Now, in any paint aplication, open the texture created in Uv mapper and paint on it. Then import the model saved in Uv mapper to poser and open the texture you have done in the paint aplication. If you want to add a texture to a figure comes with poser, you find the templates of every figure in one of the original 2 cds.
other thing, you can use paint 3d too. It comes with poser. But i think Uv mapper is easier.
Angola, I agree about the manual. I call it the "Useless Manual" rather than the User Manual. It's worthless. I've put it away on a shelf somewhere and I can't even find it. I've never gotten anything out of it. Most of what I've learned came from trial and error or from other helpful users like all these folks here. Melanie
