THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Question

Dragon5 ( ) posted Sat, 15 September 2007 at 8:29 PM · edited Tue, 03 December 2024 at 3:48 AM

hello

i am rather new to bryce and daz studio.

i been playing with posers and got very good at them in the short time making water related posers like swimming diving etc.

but i cannot find some very needed materials.

i need air bubbles and splashes or tutitionals on how to crrate them.

i am also looking for 16th 17th century style dresses.

3d models with white skin. all other models that i got like victoria 3 and 4 for bryce and daz are dark skinned tan.

i want to make a render of 16th, 17th century town or port and back then women did not sunbathed for well known reasons.

i got very limited amount of materials so why i am asking here if any one can advice me where to finf the following:

16th, 17th, 18th century dresses.

untanned body model like victoria 4, but white. no tan.

poser of a horse, preferable white or light brown.

small boat with oars.

model of a dog like hound.

air bubbles  that can be placed underwater.

above water splashes or water rings.

ALL these must be compatible to be edited in daz 1.5 studio or bryce.

what i been doing i been editing moving them in daz then importing to bryce.

please help me.

i can make some stuff for others if others can show me what i need.

thank you

bye

not asking for much..;)

Daz Studio I'm not that familiar with, but there are literally thousands of textures (mats) for Bryce.
I think there's a 'canned search' in Google for Bryce Mats. I have about 60 sites in my database for mats, but don't want to violate the TOS by posting them (or the TNG, DS9, or ENT..;)

not sure what you mean by 'white skin'...pure white, or just what they call in the music business a 'studio tan'..;) You can probably texture stuff in D|S (Daz Studio) if you want a solid color. If not, there's a lot of MATs (Poser, vs. mat files for Bryce) out there.

Poser Fashion (I seem to remember) has a lot of dresses of  various periods, just don't remember which ones...

i know there's a small boat (Avalon boat, I think it's called, but may not be the right century)

If you have Poser, you already have a dog and horse. There's currently a 3d Pack for free at Daz (search models, then promotions, and search on 'lowest price'. Should be in the upper left corner), which has some more critters, etc. Vickie and others you probably already have. Since Daz makes both Vickie and D|S, they're almost guaranteed compatible (as much as anything is nowadays..;)

You can download Daz Studio free from Daz. I have 1.7.x.x (don't remember the last numbers), so that will give you more capabilities.

Air bubbles I don't know about, but if there's one thing you can do in Bryce, is make shiny spheres, and put them above or below water (it's the Bryce equivalent of Vickie inna temple with a sword...;)

What you might also want to do is stop by the Daz Studio forum (I think we have one), or if not, definately go by Daz, I'm positive they have one...;)

don't know if this helps, but there ya go. If you IM me, I can send you the mat and other Bryce links via email.

Almost everything you need yu can find here in the free stuff.  Just go in and do a search and I know they are there because I have them. :D
There is even a free morphing dog model that works in poser or daz...and anything you can get in daz will import into bryce.

You might have to edit the skin using some image editing software.

With Bryce, you can make spheres with a glass material and use that for bubbles. I think there's a horse that comes with Poser. There are some models for water splashes, will have to search around for them--usually for fountains or waterfalls. Best advice would be to make the splashes yourself... the Bryce terrain editor would be the first tool to use, or use another 3D app, like 3D Modeler Pro, to make the splashes. The Bryce metaballs are good tools to use for splashes and even bubbles--big bubble blobs.

i use bryce balls, and use glass mats for bubble.metaballs work great too...

Poser fashon. http://www.poserfashion.net/

untanned body model like victoria 4, but white. no tan.
Change the texture. Make sure the ambient channel also uses the image texture and is not black. Check to be sure the diffuse slider did not default to a low value like 7. This was a bug with imports in 5.0 - 5.5 Check some sites on the right like poser girls for free textures every month. There was also a site called Noid's world o tat in the UK that had some really pale skinned textures. Sorry , don't have a link.

poser of a horse, preferable white or light brown.
Free in commercial poser.  You can also find static models that are posed. 3dcafwe is gone but this site is a mega index http://www-c.inria.fr/Eric.Saltel/download/gamma.php It only works with firefox browsers. The same place can also work for your next two questions.

small boat with oars.

model of a dog like hound.
DAZ studio content has a dog. http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=2635
This is free until the end of september.

above water splashes or water rings. Lots of tutorials right here onsite follow this link and browse the list. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutorial/index.php?browse&section_id=15
Good classic tutorials from peter sharp, Water splash etc. at his homepage.

herre is nothing pale or white in vic 4.

all taned

alexclark ( ) posted Wed, 19 September 2007 at 3:54 PM

If you have a tanned skin for v4... why not open the texture map (usually found in Studio>runtime>textures>...) in an image editor and adjust the colour levels or brightness until you're happy with the colour? Then go back into Studio, apply the tanned map, and use the surface select tool to substitute in your edited version. Or, If you're feeling really cocky you can start editing the texture map names in the .pz2 files (Studio>runtime>libraries>pose>...) to call up your own maps.

I think what dragon5 really needs is to visit some tutorials for newbies and to read the  manual that came with daz studio.
I know when I first started I spent many hours searching and reading until I got the idea. I wasn't a member here at the time and didn't know the forums existed.
Its hard getting started but there's lots of good tutorials out there.
