Hi all, That's right! You now have the opportunity to win BRYCE5 or $300 (whichever is less)! Totally free! All you have to do is make an image and enter it into the contest. Rules: All entries may not have been shown in WIP or final phase before today (May 29, 2001). Entries must be submitted before July 3, 2001. Entries after July 3, 2001 will not be considered. Images MAY NOT BE IN EXCESS OF 1024 x 1024 pixels nor smaller than 480 x 360 pixels in size and MUST BE IN .JPG format. Any entry above or below resolution size or not in JPG format will be disqualified without notification. Any image above .25 meg (250000 kilo) in size will be disqualified! You MUST be present at the "Heaven's Wrath" release party on July 6 at the Delphi Bryce Forum's chat (http://www.delphi.com/bryce/start) AT THE TIME OF AWARD to win. The Bryce5 award time will be awarded between 6:00 pm EST and 10:00 pm est on July 6, 2001. No image that is not Bryce rendered may enter. You may be required to show proof of the Bryce file at the time of award to claim the prize. The prize award is final and determined by the judges whose decision may not be disputed. You must display your entry in this string OR in one of the various forum strings throughout the internet. You MUST ALSO email Brycetech with the URL of the entry. You MAY NOT send the image as an attachment directly to Brycetech. ANY ENTRY THAT IS SENT DIRECTLY TO ANY OF THE JUDGES VIA ATTACHMENT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED without notification!!! You may send a link to the image URL (only!) to ensure that the judges see it. Judges will be determined by Brycetech. Brycetech will have the deciding vote in the instance tbat there is a tie or disagreement regarding a winner. The winner must supply a valid mailing address when chosen. IF Corel offers an "upgrade" offer to previous owners and the winner is a previous owner of Bryce, you will be required to purchase the upgrade and Brycetech will re-imburse you for the entire upgrade price (+ reasonable shipping charges). You must claim your prize within 30 days of award or it is null. If Bryce5 is not available within 30 days of award, you must contact Brycetech within 30 days to ensure that you are aware of the award and to supply necessary information. Judges may not enter the contest. Judges to be announced. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the party and award will be re-scheduled for a later date. All previous rules will apply. If Bryce5's cost is >$300 you will be sent the cash and must make up the difference yourself. You may not choose to get the cash instead of Bryce5. ******* Good luck! BT PS, if you have any questions...feel free to contact me at: brycetech@yahoo.com..or via this string. If you are interested in being a judge..contact me at the above address. rem..don't send attachments!

More stipulations than a law suit, Heck it would be far less painful just going out and buying the SW. And to schedule a chat right around the July 4th weekend is not that bright either. Most people are either travelling, enjoying company of freinds and family or catching up on work to be bothered. If Bryce 5 is such a advance over the existing SW. Then I'll just buy the upgrade. Thanks but no Thanks.

Also, is'nt this abuse of this forum? This is not a contest board nor is it affiliated with the contest. Having to go to another site to a different chat. Smacks of promotional use to me.

All the rules say is that you are gonna be making an image over the next month, why not try to win Bryce5 with it? The email notification is simply a way to make sure that I see it. Renderosity, commune, and the delphi forum supposedly send a notification of a reply, but you gave 2 replies, I only got one notification. If it had been someone else, I would not have known of the entry. ...and just sending it to me would fill my mail box and stop others from sending their stuff. Lots like to render their images at 1024 size, I personally never do...but this lets them do it. And lets face it, theres no reason to put up an image thats >250000 bytes... Dont want to take all day just to look at images. See, this is just a party. Like the old Bryce4 chats...there were times that there were 50 people in the room and text would fly by so fast that you couldnt keep up. But it was fun to meet so many people who all had the same hobby..that being Bryce. I'm sorry that the time/date doesnt suit you. I wish I could set a time that was good for everyone, but I cant. I already rescheduled it once. Its too late for Europe and too early for the west coast. One thing that I guess I could do is to set a better window of time for the B5 prize so that people dont have to stay for the full 4 hours of chat. The party is to release the bryce/poser/flash movie "heaven's wrath"...and the anniversary date of 3dkidscape. I have been working on the movie for nearly a year. It has no promo or sales pitch..its just a movie..for fun for a kids site. Most people I know dont need a reason to party..just a time. But this gives a reason and then for just meeting everyone you can possibly win something with an image that you were already going to make. Besides, there will already be lots of other free things there...and chances to win. Again..just for fun. I have had lots of positive feedback for the party...lots say they will be there, some say they cant, others say 'not sure'. itd really be nice to meet so many Brycers at one time. It will be lots of fun...all for fun's sake. I am not affiliated with Corel. Im just a guy who likes Bryce...so why not just make an image, post it, and say "here it is". I hope that clears it up a bit. thanx BT

brycetech - any specifications on what type of image that you will be looking for? A theme or something? Or is it at the artist's discression? thanks, Jared

brycetech ( ) posted Tue, 29 May 2001 at 5:05 PM

nope jared, your image..at your discretion. I had originally thought about requiring the use of a model, but as illustrated very clearly above..some would call it "promotional" instead of just having fun with it. Looking very forward to seeing your image :) thanx BT

Hey, BT, is it OK to have Poser models in the Bryce pic? i wasn't clear if it had to be 100% Bryce or not. Thanks!

Tempest ( ) posted Wed, 30 May 2001 at 5:18 PM

You always are doing the coolest things BT, if I can manage something by then, Im in although in all likelihood Ill be laughed out of the contest (My limited skills are after all laughable) but sounds like a whole lot of fun, and Im coming for the party anyways... see you all there. -Tempest-

brycetech ( ) posted Wed, 30 May 2001 at 11:25 PM

fred, sure..use any model you want..the only stipulation was that it be rendered in bryce. looking forward to seeing some kewl pictures from this :) Tempest, I think I will definately draw a closer circle around the time that the B5 award will be given just so that those that enter dont have to hang out for 4 hours (unless they just want to) :) later BT

EricofSD ( ) posted Thu, 31 May 2001 at 1:19 AM

Thanks BT, that's a challenge I'll take. I enjoy the renderosity board in part for the challenges. Makes me work at Bryce in a guided direction rather than just staring at the screen. I'm astounded that folks think this isn't appropriate. I for one appreciate the offer and the rules and would like to encourage more contests with prizes. Oh, who owns the image? The creator or Bryce?

brycetech ( ) posted Thu, 31 May 2001 at 7:07 AM

lol the artist will of course retain the rights to the image. I'd just like to be able to display the winner for a bit at my site when it is chosen. Again, I am not affiliated with Corel...this is just a "for fun" kinda thing. :) See, Im coming along quite well on the models I have been making for poser. They will soon be up for sale, and I want to use such proceeds to not only pay for the programs I have but to have contests that have cool prizes :) BT BT

KenS ( ) posted Thu, 31 May 2001 at 3:43 PM

Sounds like a cool contest BT, thanks for etting us know about it. I hope it all goes well with it. Ken

Poppi ( ) posted Thu, 31 May 2001 at 8:52 PM

IF Corel offers an "upgrade" offer to previous owners and the winner is a previous owner of Bryce, you will be required to purchase the upgrade and Brycetech will re-imburse you for the entire upgrade price (+ reasonable shipping charges). Well, question...If we create a Bryce image, obviously, we are "previous" owners. I see the word...purchase in that paragraph. Can you please explain how "previous" bryce owners are rewarded? Thank you, Poppi, Poppi's Productions.

brycetech ( ) posted Fri, 01 June 2001 at 2:30 AM

gonna be there ken? for the question: you will not necessarily own it...I know people that make the images at a friend's house and I personally do not think this will be an issue...I really dont think there will be an upgrade offer. I might be wrong, but I dont think there will be. BT

Here is a list of all the entries thus far..complete with thumbnails http://www.brycetech.com/stufftodelete/contest.html BT

brycetech ( ) posted Tue, 26 June 2001 at 2:00 PM

the contest entry page has been updated: http://www.brycetech.com/stufftodelete/contest.html the judges are: M Surges and Elf (Delphi Forum) Gunther and Marciella (Bryce-Alive) Brent Smith (bruno of 3dkidscape) Gabriel Smith David Richmond (Brycetech) A little update for you: the Bryce5 award will be issued at 8:30 pm est. You (or an appointed representative) must be present to claim the prize. I have asked the judges to pick the top 5 entries. If #1 is not present, it will go to #2, if #2 isnt present it will go to #3..etc. the representative thing is to help those who may have a bit of a problem being at the party exactly at 8:30 EST. You may appoint a representative to claim the prize for you. This person must be present...and I have to get AN EMAIL from you stating that this person is your "stand-in". ...judges can not be representatives... anyhow guys, B5 is looking like a really good thing! I have mine ordered already! There is still lots of time to get in a picture! thanx BT
