Dr. Geep,

Love your stuff, but I'm confused and also thwarted.

Your room 401 only shows the same first slide as above. Then you have "Well that's all we have time for" with Geep looking at his watch.

On top of that your web page has done something magical so that when I try to screen shot (PrtScrn) it to show you the problem, it doesn't show the screen shot, but instead the URL is in the clipboard.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

DG,

Do you have any modelling tutorials (for clothes) using blender, animator8, or Wings3D?

MadameX ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2007 at 1:48 PM

Ditto what bb said, 'cept for the screenshot thingy....didn't do that here. Just wandered around in the basement for a bit.....

@ bagginsbill

Thanks 4 the accolades ...

I just started this class and just posted Page 2 ... and ... . I post 'em as I do 'em ... ;=]

Sorry, I don't know 'bout your PrtScrn thingy cuz it depends alot on your browser, s/w config, etc.  If you want to save a "Page", you might try using the method shown in the image above.  Hope I am not being pedantic here but perhaps someone else may be interested in this.

@ SSAfam1

I only have an older tut for makin' morphs using "Wings3D" ifn yer interested ... but nothing for blender or anim8tor right now  ... sorry ... ;=[

@ MadameX

Thanks ... ;=]

Dp,

Morphs as in human faces/body right? Not like clothing morphs?

Thanks for the link. Oops...I meant DG.

bagginsbill ( ) posted Sat, 13 October 2007 at 6:20 PM

Well since we're edumacating people, yea if you want to save an "image", not a "page", you right click, unless you're coopting the term "Page" to mean one slide of your lesson. But I wouldn't condone that terminology, as "Web Page" is pretty well known, and you are showing your lesson slides in a single web page. If you want to save a whole web page, you use "File/Save" because the page has more than one image and has words too.

Of course I wanted to do neither. I wanted to show you what I saw because I thought it was a mistake.

Can you explain why you dole out one slide at a time, but announce on the first one? Frankly, I'm not fond of this "check back later" idea. I'm pretty busy and if rendo did not have ebots, I wouldn't check back anything at all. You really think it's the best method to do one slide at a time and force people to keep polling your page to see if there is more?

@ bagginsbill

*"Can you explain why you dole out one slide at a time, but announce on the first one?"
Yes, it is so I can get some feedback to determine the interest level and, also, "steer" the tut in a direction that may try to answer any question(s) that viewers might have on the subject.

"Frankly, I'm not fond of this "check back later" idea.*"
Sorry, I can understand why you feel this way but I like to post a new page as soon as I create it and then I try to respond to any question(s) in the tut if applicable.  I enjoy the interaction as opposed to just generating the entire tut and then posting it in toto.

*"I'm pretty busy and if rendo did not have ebots, I wouldn't check back anything at all."

  • I understand and I agree - if I didn't get an ebot for a new post to a thread, I probably would seldom, if ever, check back on a thread unless it was of great interest and then I would bookmark that thread.

"You really think it's the best method to do one slide at a time and force people to keep polling your page to see if there is more?"
*No, but I'm not sure what the best method is.  I suspect that there are several different "best" methods depending on who you ask.  The previous class/tut that I did was posted here on R'osity (one "page" at a time as I created them) but for this one, i.e., Magic Box, I will not post the tut here but only on my website and no ebots can be sent because my website is not setup to do that, hence, the "please check back ..." message.  I am not trying to force anyone to do anything.  Those that are interested are always welcome to view any or all of the 2,000+ pages on my website for FREE.  I just enjoy sharing what meager knowledge of Poser that I have with any that are willing to "listen."

Sorry if I got a little long winded but I just felt like typing ... ;=]

cheers,
dr geep
;=]

P.S. BTW bagginsbill - you do an excellent job on the instructions (and images) that you post here in the forum and I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the time you spend to create the images and accompanying explanations that go with them.

Hi pak,

Yes, I have actually done several Magic Box tuts but I wanted to do a new one for Poser 6 and using my new  "Notebook" form.

Looking back at the older ones, they somehow seemed to lack "luster" (not that this one will have any better "luster" - ha ha) but, I shall try ... and beauty being in the eye of ..., etc., etc., etc.

Or maybe he just forgot the word "won't"...

I love your tuts DP,and the shadow catcher has proved very usefull when used with Daz's Cyclorama....

Getting old and still making "art" without soiling myself, now that's success.

Yes, it's very, very strange, isn't it ... the images seem to just keep shrinking everytime I post a new one. ... ;=?

Oh well, they're all still full size over at the U. ... the last time I checked anyway. ... ;=]

There are, also, Pages 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 online over at the U.
