Attached Link: Fractal Subcommunity

Hi everybody!

We're proud to announce we have our very own Subcommunity now, a place where all Fractal links and news are together.

Now that we have this feature, we'll place the Fractal Window Weekly there from now on. So whenever you go to the Fractal Subcommunity, you'll see the current FWW there, right in front of your eyes.

So, bookmark the attached link because all links to fractal happenings and places within Renderosity are there.

Cheers!
Barb

I'm very pleased see things fractal consolidated in one place, and incorporation of the Outside Links should be of particular value to many people.  As an additional feature might it not be possible to draw attention to  newcomers when they first post something, either by simply giving their name or  by additionally supplying a link  to their work or gallery .  It would bring awareness to others and facilitate a better  welcoming atmosphere.

I'm glad you like =)

Cliff, although what you mention it seems like a nice feature, I would rather leave it to the new member's decision. There are many that prefer to be unnoticed until they feel comfortable with posting and/or talking to others. Drawing the attention to them might not be what everybody wants. I hope you understand.

Thank you!
Barb

Hi Barb,
I'm well pleased that you gave it consideration and most particularly with the feelings of the newbies in mind.  There might though still be a gap in that many could slip in unnoticed whether they would or not and as Rendo grows larger.
There is no particular need to reply to this.  It's just an observation.
Cliff.

Hi,
this community seems very nice. However I have a question: the FWW seems to be only one week. Is the historics of old weeks FWW erased? I was used to have a look from time to time to the old ones selections from FWW and now I'm a bit lost...

Always something new.
A very nice selection of fractals this past week.

Philippe, we're working on it =) Since its a different kind of code we have to do some adjusting, but we're going to come up with a way of archiving these FWWs as well. We'll let you all know when the archives are up again (we're not going to lose any FWW anyway, so don't panic =)

Marion, thank you for your kind words week after week. We truly appreciate them.

Cliff, I'm very sorry but I didn't understand this sentence: "There might though still be a gap in that many could slip in unnoticed whether they would or not and as Rendo grows larger." Must be a language barrier on my side, would you be kind enough to explain or rephrase ir? Sorry.

Cheers!
Barb

Hi Barb,
My use of English is like that!
Could you not include some facility whereby people who have begun posting can choose to be listed as a "newbie"?  It need be nothing more than a welcoming entry.  Older members could then look them up and consider also giving them a personalised  welcome.
I still think it would be better if you did it automatically, but perhaps after they have posted a few times (say five or ten times).
Again, there is no need to reply to this.
Cliff.

Hi Barb,
Thank you for your hard work, and I understand completely the situation of the FWW archive.
Anyway a big thank you for selecting one of my fractals for this FWW. I'm touched.
Cheers,
Philippe

I have to worry, a black cat masquerading as a bunny?  Now the mice will have to jump to it!
