Subject: can't install new content

Yeah, I'm gonna pos this at DAZ too since it's where the product came from, but I wanted some opinons.

I just picked up some stuff at DAZ and as soon as I clicked on the exe, windows dropped one of those "x file has created an error', the one that you have to send the report in for, is there a way to extract the files from the exe file with another program?  I thought winzip handled zip .exe's, but it won't open it, any help would be great

and if this is the wrong forum for this question, I apologize, it seemed related to poser :P

edit

and I did try re-downloading it, that didn't work

Sounds like a corrupt .exe file.

Go and reset your downloads at Daz and try downloading them again.

If it is only one item and you have tried to redownload it and it gives you that same error, it could be that the .exe is really corrupt. In that case send a message to Daz through their "Contact Us" and let them know.  Unlike here, store staff do not monitor the forums at Daz.

If it's all of your .exe files that are doing that from Daz, then I would suspect it's something at your end.  If you are behing a router, turn off your firewall and virus scanner. Do not use a download manager.

Those are all of the things I can think of.

Are you on a Mac?
Not that that alone makes you a deviant, per say. 😉

Maybe you are installing a file not meant for your system???

lol, nope, PC, and while I'm thinking about it, this is the only file that's doing it, still no word from anyone at DAZ, looks like that's $15 shot down

It's Sunday. You won't hear anything from them until during the week. It takes them a few days to respond usually.  You can also call them. They have a toll free number in the USA.

Also, if it's just one file it sounds like it's corrupt. If that is the case they will fix the file and you can redownload it. You aren't out the money.  If they can't fix the file then they will refund you.

well, thanks for the suggestions, just kinda frustrating becuase I had plans for it, I gotten it a long time ago and never installed it until now... or tried.  The other problem is, this wasn't one I tried to download (was a similar set though) again becuase someone else got it for me back when I tried using Poser... long long time ago.  Oh well, I'll see what happens
