Hello all, i bought it 2 or 3days ago.. and i was wondering if i could convert a v3 dress to a v3 character i bought at renderosity or somewhere. In my case my character is Margot for v3. furthermore i modified her by setting hip xscale to 111% i'll guide through the steps. Mainly my conversion wasn't working on the beginning because i when i created a full body morph.. I did't do it right. i never knew this trick until the EdW, a member at renderosity, told me how to correctly make a full body morph. So step 1. load your v3 based character or miki based character or whatever based character you want to clothe. Then you'll create the Full body morph: -Select the figures body and look in the parameters, look at the dials. There will be a bunch of morphs. Note down all of those that do not have value of zero.

-Next, go to each body part (figure's chest,, right collar, left collar, neck, left shoulder, right shoulder, right forearm, ,left forearm, abdomen, hip, right buttock, left bottock, right thihg, left thigh, right shin, left shin..and feet, etc) of your character and if it has any of the morphs you saw in the BODY, Change it to match the value of that. NOTE: By body i mean,as an example Figure1 , body part: BODY In this pic notice Barbarian1 is in the BODY. and also in the CHEST. so change the chest Barbarian 1 to same value as Barbarian1 in the body.

-Next, After you finish changing the values of all the morphs that are contained in individual body parts( chest, forearm, hip, etc) and also in the BODY , change all those morphs in the body to value 0.000

tebop ( ) posted Sat, 24 November 2007 at 7:06 PM

file_394101.jpg

-Next, now you can create the full body morph

tebop ( ) posted Sat, 24 November 2007 at 7:07 PM

file_394102.jpg

-Next, now you'll see the full body morph as a dial in your figure's full body morphs. Check it by setting it from 0 to -1. you'll see that if your character is a morphed v3, at -1 it will go back to v3 base.

-Next, so now your character is set. Save it to the libraries. and then now you can proceed to use Wardrobe wizard. First we'll do the Analyze Full body morph.. then after that you do the conversion for the clothing. So, load your figure that you just set up with a new Full body morph dial, and press the Analyze full body morph button. It will pop a window asking which morphs to analyze. I just select them all and make sure the morph name you created is chosen. in my caase "Sexy Margot"

tebop ( ) posted Sat, 24 November 2007 at 7:20 PM

-Next Press convert. select the clothes to convert, and the target directory. Then choose Convert from v3 to v3 if the character is a morph of v3 that you bought or downloaded. Or from MIki to Miki etc Also check the boxes you want for the Type of clothes and so on. Also choose the Add full body morphs box and i don't know if you want , but i usually check Keep Existing morphs.. That's good because if the original dress had morphs to adjust many things, i'm sure you'll wan to keep those. -Press convert -You'll be asked two questions in 2 different windows. One asks which morphs to keep, and the other which full body morphs to add.. or something like that, i can't recall. in any case when it asks for which body morphs to transfer, be sure your Created full body morph is there and chose it. In my case, it is there but now named "V3 SexyMargot" so i choose that one. and that's it when it finishes converting. your dress ir ready.

-So you get your skirt or whatever and apply it to your figure but it doesn't quite fit..? that's cause you have to go to the clothing's BODY and in the parameters dials...find the Full body morph you created and added to it. and set it to 1. then you will see it changes shape. : ) Now if your modified character is a character you bought or downloaded but you made a change in XScale yScale, zscale etc.. that will not be covered by the resulting converted clothin. you have to manually do that. So my margot , i changed her hip to xscale 111% so i had to change the dress's hip's xScale to 111% And that's it . now use inflate and smooth to fix the details. -here is picture of my resulting converted dress with Sexymargot dial at 0.00

And here it is after i set the Sexymargot dial to 1.000 That's all: )

I've done this before and it's a lot of work. I've asked in the poser-python forum if someone can write a script for it.

Best regards,

Bopperthijs

Oh great and this is the simple fix is it  :)

bopperthijs ( ) posted Sun, 25 November 2007 at 2:55 PM

You can use the free spawncharacter.py python-script of svdl, it makes a INJ-file of the FBM-character. Inject that file in an unmorphed figure, save that and let it analyse by wardrobewizard 2, if nothing went wrong you have the FBM-morph in your morph-list and that can be injected in the clothes you want to convert. This works super!

The python-script can be downloaded from the free stuff of svdl.

Good luck

I'll give this a try when I get some spare time. Thanks.

This may help PC & Mac

I've been informed of the DeltaX15 Daz Studio script that will analyze the figure in the scene and deliver a CR2 file containing all the correctly formed morph and full body morph data.

http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=44893

In DAZ Studio loaded V4 with all here morphs
Ran the DeltaX15 script
Selected all the morphs that are actuated by sliders in the BODY section. (Or as many as I wanted).
Used the V4 Base as the donor CR2

Pointed Wardrobe Wizard 2 at the New Base.CR2
It recognized all the morphs and analyzed them.

Then converted P4 Catsuit to V4
Loaded converted suit into the scene.
Tested all the dials in the BODY section.
All worked except "Strength" which wasn't a morph in the first place. I'd simply selected it without thinking.

Problem solved.

Please let me know if this (a) works for you and (b) is what is needed.

Thanks.

I don't use Daz/studio very much, but I'll give it a try .

Thanks Phil.

PhilC ( ) posted Mon, 26 November 2007 at 8:02 AM

I'm also writing a script to do the same thing in Poser 7 so trying to cover all the bases :)

SoCalRoberta ( ) posted Mon, 26 November 2007 at 4:00 PM

If you would do that Phil, I will name my first grandchild after you!!

metabog ( ) posted Tue, 27 November 2007 at 5:43 AM

I tried the spawncharacter.py script Bopper mentioned above and that worked.
Whew! Saved a lot of time!

bopperthijs ( ) posted Tue, 27 November 2007 at 11:17 PM

I have to add some warning to my advice, I discovered that there are some big disadvantages to this method when working with V4.1: crosstalk doesn't work anymore and the eyes are dislocated!
I'm trying to figure out a solution but I'm afraid it's a Poser7 thing and I haven't P6 not installed at the moment. So take care for now!

Best regards,

Bopperthijs

Tries to wait patiently for Phil to write the script for Poser.
