Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 24 1:33 pm)
Pneumonia is a total PIG of a thing to get - tell Paul to take all the time he needs to get well - to try to do too much too soon will only knock back his recovery.
Best wishes to you both
Sheila

Thank you fo all the kind words.
I got home about an hour ago with a bag full of meds. Feeling much better than I was (blood oxy was waay low, pulse rate and BP through the roof) but still not on top form yet. I'm definitely going to be taking it easy for a while.

Glad you're home! Make sure you take all of the medications that were given to you and don't stop because you are "feeling better" and think you don't need to finish the prescriptions.

No need to worry about that. Considering I was very nearly "The Late Sam Therapy" I am not inclined to take any risks.

I hope that you recover both fully and soon, Paul. I am very glad to see you back again. Rest well.

Karen's an honorary Sheffield lass. She doesn't scare me because I'm used to her attitude. It's a northern thing. :)

hope you feel better soon Paul!!
I'm betting your first question to the Doc, was-
" well Doc, how bad is it? will i still be able to use poser? "
"what's poser? "(Doctor)
" it's an application for perverts "
" is it a medicated cream then?, ...did i prescribe it? " (Doctor)
( puts in application form for a visit from Mistress Karen )

Not quite but when they were strapping me up to a cardiac monitor the Doc started asking me about jobs and so forth.
Explaining 3D graphics to a non graphics person ain't easy at the best of times. Imagine how it was at 5:30 AM, fighting for breath, dog tired, 3750 wires, tubes, needles and devices attached to me, oxygen mask over my face and frightened out of my wits. Still, I think he got the idea. :)

Glad to see you're back! Hope you're feeling ok now. Pneumonia isn't a laughing matter, even with penicillin to fight it!

Nope. I have to take it very slowly and carefully. Had an attack of rubber legs on the stairs yesterday. Fortunately, the ground broke my fall.

sounds like u were doing too much. you have to do a little bit of walking and slowly (very slowly) invrease it every day. drink plenty of fluids, and if u eat salty food and drink water, that is exactly the same as the saline they gave u in hospital that made u feel better love esther

Yes, I'm trying to learn how to walk very slowly and carefully. I seem to have non stop tremors at the moment. It's annoying.
Didn't need saline in hospital. I drink lots of water anyhow. Don't use much salt in my diet. Just add a little to things as they cook, never use it as a table condiment.

Quote - Welcome back :)
No fun having pneumonia because it takes so much out of you. Then you still are going tru more for weeks or months after your better as you know now.
You're not kidding. I'm still thinking I'm Superman but my body says, "Nope". I went into town yesterday for the first time since I got out of hospital. Still getting over that.
Kinda like Ozzy Osbourne says... "In me head I'm still 17 but my ass tells me I'm an old man now". Not great but oh well.

Yea it sure kicks your butt. I had walking pneumonia in 1982 or 1983 and was working on new homes out of town. To save money I would stay in a sleeping bag in the units that got hot water and gas for heat before they were ready to move in. Saved lots of money and had a small 13" tv so it was great and I gt a great write off on all gas, food etc. But was having to take my boots off all the time because subs were going into the units with mud and getting it all over the new carpet so the was cleaning the carpet so it be wet. Then going in and out all the time like that got to me. I stayed there two day before I said I need to go to Kaiser to see a doctor. So too the 145 mile drive back home and then my dad took me. I was so sick that it did not hit me that Kaiser was all over the place and they had one right down in town where I was working. Said to take 3 weeks off work but I took a weel and went back because I was making so much money back then I did not want to take to much time off. But I was never the same after that. It takes so much out of you and maybe if I did what the doctor said I would of been better.
So just do as the doctor says and take it easy because your not 17 and may not ever get all back to being the same as you was before getting pneumonia.
At least you survived with your funny bone unharmed! :thumbupboth:
