I have been taking trips to the west for the last 12 years on my Goldwing Motorcycle and have always taken a point and shoot with me. Most all my pictures have been landscapes or places of Interest. I have tons of the pictures. Now that I have a DSLR I plan to take it with me for a lot of my pictures. These trips usualy last 2-3 weeks so you can imagine all the places that are Interesting for great pictures. Last two years I have ridden to British Columbia and spent a week with some friends I found on the Internet and I have a lot of Pictures of that area. :) I don't know what my genre would be and as long as I enjoy traveling and taking pictures I guess it doesn't really matter. :)Attached is a few pics from Kelowna, BC. They had a bad forest fire just before I got there as you can see in some the pictures in the link I have attatched.
There pictures were taken with an Olympus C-50 P & S. :)

Perhaps a style is limiting? Anyway: I don't think I have one. I can see a few constants: no humans, no studio shots, always available light, and a love for out-of-the-ordinary forms , textures and lighting, but that's about it.
And it can, of course, change.

Anything and everything - give it all to me in large quantities to lap up.
It would be interesting to know what people associate you with. For instance if anyone reads the name FB101 as the photographer you would probably think "art-nude"... Zacko - impact portraits (and expansive dreamy landscapes.... and drop shots... hrm - maybe not confined to one style there).
As long as when someone reads "inshaala" as the author they dont think - bah, this guy is crap... then i am happy with not being attached to a genre, although i would like to (attempt to) master one at some point. What that is i dont know...

I like to photograph pretty much anything if I think it will make a striking image. But I do have strong leanings towards landscapes. I love the challenge of not just capturing a nice view but trying to capture the mood and feeling of a point in time too. In fact, just lately, it's just about all I've been shooting. So, yeah I guess you can put me down as a landscape photographer.

Is there a genre called 'wierd and tilted angles that seem to work' ???
Coz that's my genre!

haha - yeah, that is true!
I see your genre as not as much the photo, but the method behind the shot

YIp that's it - so that means - nope I don't have a genre.
I like to think I'm into the cityscape thing and abstracts.
But honestly of late most of my gallery is in the 'alternative' genre - if I had to go by that...

I don't have a genre either. Being still pretty new to photography I guess that's to be expected, but on the other hand I don't expect it to change much (if any) in the future. The constants for me are (i) nature, (ii) available light, and (iii) not changing the motive except for maybe brushing aside a few leaves or a single twig. I just like to shoot what I see if it captures my interest, be it throught lighting, textures, or something else. I'd say that, for me at least, that's not a question of a personal style I have chosen, but rather a question of how my personal perception relates to my photography.

Dear Friends, Looking at my gallery I have one personal comment: I *do not have a particular genre, unless it might be what looks appealing at the moment.
Of course, I take times of bw, nature, this and that...serendipity and the available shot has much to do with it as well as my mood at the time. My images are mostly straight forward photos but not of a particular genre.
Perhaps I am not to have one genre to pursue. What about you ? Thanks. TomD'Art.
