Blender F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 10 9:28 pm)
hey.
first off, i'd like to say hell yeah, i'm making a come back. i'm finally finished with most of my apps and my most recent java project which was not cg related. even though i'm still swamped with work and relationships i feel its time to come back a bit.
is this a beta blender build or an official build? did that object start out as a cub domain or something else?
Which file do you want? The new one (pictured above) or the original Water Test?
Screw it, I'll put them in a .rar file for you. I'm going to need to Message it to you however. One has the spider model in it, and I don't want it getting out. You've been a good friend, so i'll trust you with it. Feel free to use the model, just don't market it. And credit me if you do in fact use it at all. Give me about 20-30 minutes. I need to get a host for the file.
And thanks

I don't mind a bit. Would love to see it used for something productive. ^_^
All of the original color materials are on the material list of both files. But I joind the meshes and added a simple color to them for faster rendering purposes (my old PC is insanely slow). Simply Click a Vertical and "Ctrl + L" to select al of it's related mesh. You already knew how to do that, But felt it'll help any fellow noobs that read this.
Anyway, from there, you can pick apart the different parts. There's no Armature though. I've yet to get Armature exporting to work.
**nruddock,
** Thanks, er....how do I do that?
Okay, I found the directory and deleted the (.rar) files. As well as something called "quit" Assumed it was needed to be removed as well. But I can get it back if need be.
Now The old liquid models are not coming up which is good. BUT, now the BAKE is starting at frame "-1" instead of "0" as it should. And then nothing happens. I've tested it with a domain box and one small Sphere set to be fluid and the same thing happens.
I want to start practicing on other simulations but this issue needs to be resolved first. An I going to have to re-install the program to et past this?
Thanks again
its perfectly alright for the bake to start at -1, that just means its doing some precalculations. just wait for something else to happen, your computer might not have enough memory to do the bake, but i doubt that is the issue. more likely is that your processor is to slow and you set the grid levels too high.

This is the problem I'm having with the Fluid simulator in Blender 2.45. I did a quick test all fine and good. No problems at all. So I decided later today to make a fun little animation with water. Unfortaintly, one I assign the main box as a "Domain" it imports the original fluid mesh instead of making a new one. Any idea how to fix this?I'm also looking for basic tuts (hopefully Video) on water, grass, particles, hair, etc for NOOBS. Concidering I am one. Thanks.
