Subject: Anyone want to paint some eyes?

I've been working on this guardian angel image for a while and I basically have it the way I want it except for the angel's eyes. They look zombie-like. They have no color variation or darker outer ring. They're ... yuck.

Is there anyone good at postwork painting who could make these eyes beautiful? A close-up is below.

depends on how you're doing it. If you're using Daz 3d, you might be able to use one of hundreds of eye shades out there, depending on the character (go through the Poser freebies, and search on 'eyes')

Failing that, you could texture them in Bryce itself, if you found a mat you liked. Stay tuned for more helpful answers...;)

Well first off they seem like the colour area is to large for the white so if you could scale that down by as much as 1/3 I think you'd have a nicer looking start point . Or bear this in mind when selecting a new mat...we don't know what this was mapped in so we can't give more specific advice. More details = better help.. ...

 

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

The character is Michael 3 and the eyes are those that came with the Michael 3 package. I'm hesitant to pull this back into Daz Studio as I always seem to have to reposition and resize everything when re-importing to Bryce. Thus, the request for postwork painters.

Do you have the eye textures as an image texture? I can probably adapt some of the freebie image textures I have if I have a template to set it up from.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

I thought you were looking for a better map, not someone to post work - my apologies.
You should be able to apply a new map inside bryce by selecting the eye object (or subparts) and adding a better image in the associated material.
Can you show us a screen cap of your eye mat settings in the material manager - curious why it is getting washed out/flattened?

Does this help? i'm looking for anything that will improve the eyes.

For me, the eyes lookes best if Diffusion put to 100, ambience on +/- 15, both with node from the picture. Try to experiment with the specularity, that can change the wole eyes.
 For the , I beleave it is the corona, I select the water material. This should give better results.

Also , this is not a rule, mor a guide I use for meself. there are better tutorials on this on the web, like this one:

*I solve this problem by taking careful note of the position and size BEFORE I go back to DAZ/studio.  Then when I port back to Bryce I just input the data and the model goes back to where it was.

And you could always re-size and re-position the eyes in Bryce anyway.

I've also slightly changed Contrast and Brightness Levels.

The Eyes look decent......but there's something missing.........Eyelashes, which will cast a bit of shadow over the eye to give it contrast. Mike 3 has really nice mats and trans maps for lashes.

Also, I'm not sure why the top of the eylid is so pronounced, it's drawing attention.
