Greetings all, I ordered Vue 3 from HiSoft and will order the vue 4 upgrade next week...can't wait to get them! :) I hope I did a good choice but at these prices it's many times less expensive than WB3 and WCS! :) Just thought I'd share my excitement with you all. Cheers!

Thanks dolly...for now I can't live without Terragen and I am excited to see how I can mix my Vue 4 scenes with LightWave. :) Cheers!

Welcome to Vue! It sounds like you're on the right path! The only downside I've known with Vue has been that the sun/moon's appearance is not as attractive as Terragen. Version 4, however, is adding volumetric lighting and my Terragen might start collecting dust! :)

hehe great to hear...I am impressed by the new features and must admit I was never attracted by Vue especially in V1 and V2. Oh! how does V3 handles the DEM's and does it allow 10-meter ones and also the Mars DTM? Cheers!

so can you export from terregen into vue i did`nt know that and how cheers dolly

I don't work with DEMs myself, so I can't really answer that one. Someone will be along who can answer, though, I'm sure. :) Terragen exports terrains, which can be imported into Vue. (Or it can also go vice-versa).

Really? Cool...using TG, Vue and Lw all together would be a dream come true for us! :)

I think Terragen can export a DEM or a .bmp of it's terrains, right? Seems as though I did it once before, but I've uninstalled Terragen and can't check. Vue imports DEM files just fine, and check out the link above for some cool ones. Otherwise, welcome to Vue, Flywaver! Also, have you seen the Ozone plugin for Light Wave at the E-on site? Evidently it allows for LW to be able to use Vue's atmopsphere algorithims for itself. Cheers, Mike

Thanks mjustmike, I think there will be ways to combine the 3 software together and I checked Ozone a few times but we now have a nice LScript for clouds in LW which is free. :) Cheers! Oh! check out my galleries, work done in Terragen mostly :) http://www.thealphachannel.com/images3.html http://www.thealphachannel.com/images5.html the last 2 are from my curent projects: http://www.thealphachannel.com/images/Mars.html http://www.thealphachannel.com/images/JF/Island.jpg
