Subject: veiny texture for V4?

louiseboots ( ) posted Tue, 15 January 2008 at 9:36 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 6:48 PM

Hi there - I'm on the hunt yet again! this time, it's for a very fair texture for V4 with prominent blue veins (actually, a photoshop/psp/whatever layer, or poser 7 shader setting would be ideal). Has anyone come across anything along those lines?

Many thanks in advance! :)

ohhh, just remembered that bagginsbill was talking about releasing a shader set for V4 (which I think included a veins shader) a while back - does anyone know if that's available anywhere? :)

Have a look at the Mask-edit sets for V4 I think they have one in their sets.

Thanks for replying - Maskedits textures are really nice, but the veins on the fair textures tend to be a network of little red veins and what I'd really like to get hold of is a texture (or whatever) with fewer, larger and more prominent blue veins. If I can get hold of a shader or image layer for the veins, one of maskedit's textures would be perfect for the basic texture, though :)

I made a vein shader, not very realistic for the whole body, but you can make a map for those area's where you want veins.

And here are the material room settings, you leave out the part for the red veins and attach a skintexture to the white colour of the first blender node.

The idea was based on a baggingsbill shader for dried mud, which can be found in the Node-cult forum of runtimeDNA.

PS. Of course it can also be used as creepy zombie shader!

This looks great, thanks for sharing! One thing, when I tried the set up for blue veins with the main texture plugged into the white blender input, I got a bluish tinge over the entire model (not just the veins) - am I doing something stupid? (most likely!) (I'm using poser 7)

@MsPeril, You are doing nothing, I've got the same problem, but I'm working on it. Hope to five an update ASAP.

Regards,

Bopperthijs
