Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 24 11:54 pm)
Since this particular clothing set is dynamic (as it clearly states in the comment) you will have use it as dynamic cloth.
Create an animation (the standard 30 frame animation should do). Make sure your character has the appropriate (zero) pose in frame 1. Go to frame 30 and give it the pose you want (the one showing above) including any twisting and turning as desired. Clothify the clothing and run the simulation.
Now check the last couple of frames and the select the one you like best.
Dynamic clothing can be a difficult but it will give results no confoming clothing can ever hope to achieve. Remember for any dynamic clothing you need an animation (what happened before you reached the pose), it all has an impact on the flow of the clothing.
Material setting can have a great impact on dynamic clothing. Small changes in the parameters can have a dramatic impact.
I currently don't have this set of clothing (altough it does look great) and can only hope the instructions are adequate. Without instructions it would be near impossible for non-experienced users to get it to behave as expected. With correct instructions it should be relatively easy to set up and use.
I have that outfit and I can confirm that every part of it, including the shoes and jewellery are dynamic and have to be run through the cloth room. Here is some information on dynamic clothing including some tutorials. If you need more help on it, catch me in PM and we can hook up in MSN or ICQ and I can walk you through the process once or twice.
Dynamic Clothing (more information):
The merits of dynamic clothing are:
1. The clothing looks more natural on the posed figure because it follows the body's "movement" and therefore looks "drapier" instead of still.
2. Ideal for use on poses where the figure is sitting, kneeling or in any other pose where the legs are not aligned directly below the body IE: bent legs, bent torso etc.
3. Can be more easily used on various figures instead of just the figure it was created for.
The cons of dynamic clothing:
1. Has a small learning curve.
2. Can sometimes be tricky to work with depending on the clothing item and what you are trying to do with it IE: wide sleeves that are drapier, wrapping a towel or scarf.
All of those are well worth the effort to work through because of the overwhelming benefits/results of dynamic clothing.
Here are some tutorials on how to use dynamic clothing in the cloth room:

It's also possible to make conforming clothing into dynamic clothing:

And it's possible to take a conforming outfit and work with it in the cloth room so that parts of it act dynamic.

I do okay with dynamic clothing but never managed to get a V4 with or without a custom morph to slip into the pants as she should... The pants were always a step to the side...
You could try turning inverse kinetics on or off (whichever state it is in at the moment try the other one), maybe that helps...
I just remembered one other thing about this outfit. I made a thread about it because I was really confused too.

In the Pose folder there is a "default" pose morph that when you click it fits the legs to the outfit! Apparently V4 when zeroed is not really "zero" and this pose file fixes that part.

Acadia: Thank you SO much! After following some steps from those tutorials I'm getting the outfit to (slowly) work. My graphic owes it's life to you!
Plus, the cloth of the skirt seems to be fitting to her legs very well, which is usually a problem I have with . Perhaps I was a little quick to curse the man with arthritis? :D
Thanks again!
Lisa

Well, tonight I had an idea for a graphic I wanted to do. Got the pose the way I wanted and started up an outline for the background. But I lacked an outfit to complete it with. So I found this hunk of irritating polygons and wound up spending eleven bucks on the thing. And now that I'm trying to get it to fit to the pose I spent half an hour perfecting I find that it's neigh impossible for my limited skills. Needless to say I'm madder than a frog on a hot griddle. Would it have been so hard to make the bloody thing conforming instead of loading the work on the person who buys the product? So! Here's a picture of my pose. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Lisa.
