This is an image that I came up with while trying to figure out Object Color/Highlight Color/Ambient Color/Reflective Color/Texture Map/Reflective Map/Lighting interaction. I am posting this to actively solicit subjective comments by any person that that is good at the interaction of any/all of the above. Rendered in Poser4 only, nothing else. Please let me know.

i am "okay" at this stuff, but it looks like you are on the right track! if you apply a light noise bump (at about 20%) you'll have a fantastic metallic look. as is, i would probably either take the highlight off the shoes, or make them silver or black if you want to keep them shiney like metal. excellent so far though!

I don't really zen reflection maps a'la poser... a tutorial maybe ? anyone have a link? Does the reflection map define "shine" or just map a fake reflection on?

Awesome Job. I render in Bryce4, I never would have thought to attempt anything like what you have just in Poser! Very Nice. :-) I have to thank you as well. I've been debating buying that Armour from Traveler for a month now, you just sent it up to the top of my buy list!

reflection maps add a reflection, not fake, but predefined by what you choose. the highlight colour/strenghth adds a shine... there is a tute out there, i just have to look for it. it's in the tutorial section here i believe, if you want to have a look-see for yourself :)

This tutorial helped me some: http://mine.site.ne.jp/dld/ Enter the site, and read the column section. The site is in Japanese, and the column looks like it was translated by a program - so much of it you have to figure out what they are trying to say. But, it's still good.
