I used to get those things constantly but I just kept adding their domain and  user to my email's block list. After a while I must have succeeded in blocking all their locations because I stopped getting them.

I find it incredible that they think ANYONE would  believe their heart-tugging spiel and fall for their scam but apparently enough do so that they stay encouraged to keep on trying.

The gullibility of supposedly intelligent human beings  never ceases to amaze me.

have you guys gotten any from UK as yet? I keep getting stuff about me winning the UK lottery...
and some others offering me jobs even from US..the gist being that I had to give them my account no so that they coudl send in money.

Theres a site where people are turning the tables on these guys 419scammers or something. Some of the replies are hilarious, but you still have to be cautious.

Yes but if you read the 419 eater website, it gives you tips on how to avoid trouble. Basically these people send thousands of e-mails everyday so if you set up another account they are not going to bother checking to see if it's legit.

I remember reading that somewhere on the web one can get a free temporary email address that is good only for 24 hours - seems like that would be just the thing to respnd to those guys with if one could figure out where that site is.

i've had one claiming to fly over to amsterdam :-P never showed up ofcourse, but it was still a nice excuse to buy a pasta salad at that lovely italian place on the airport X-D.

I saw on the news here in australia lastnight one of those African scammers were living and operating from Perth. Needless to say they will be living in Perth for a long time but may not be scamming any more...cops raided them.

There were some in NY also.. behind a proxy in nigeria :-P I managed to pull an adress outta them by playing along pretending to want to send money ;-) I have no idea if any authorities ever raided the appartment though...
