I had this problem as well...there must be a prop that is attached to the character that bryce cannot load properly. In my instance I had a p4 character, armor, a shield, and a sword. The shield was the only thing causing the error message...however, when I imported the shield in its normal 3ds format, everything was fine. I highly doubt that any props in poser format or textures etc are causing the problem. check to see what all formats make up the sum of your posed figure in poser and start deleting unnecessary props that you can always add after the main figure is imported. You might also check to see if you are using Grouper 1.1. Very rarely does it create a corrupt obj file, but it can happen. Hope this helps. Bryan

Hi, I have had this problem since I installed Poser Pro Pack. There are apparently errors in the .obj files it exports. If I remember well (not 100% sure and I can't check from work :-)) I solved the problem by loading the file in UVMapper and simply saving it once. I was then able to import it into Bryce with its characteristics unchanged. Hope it'll work for you.

I'd have to retest it in order to be sure but it should work. I have been using UVMapper for Poser obj file correction since Poser 3. There might be another solution though. I have just downloaded service release 1 for Poser Pro Pack from CuriousLabs and maybe it addresses this problem. You should try this first.

In some instances and I don't know what is causing them, when I export an obj figure from poserpro to bryce I get a dialog box that says. A file error has occured i/o Bad Media. This prevents loading of the model and some fantastic figures are going to waste as a result. What can i do other than load the figure as a crummy 3ds or dxf.
