Hi all after 977 downloads of my voluptous vicky clothing raw .obj meshes i have been unceremonously booted for good from my webspace at freeyellow.com oh well ,you get what you pay for can anyone here recommend a decent paid web host in the $50 a month range that will allow me to setup my website and place download links to other sites without all the whining like the cheesy "free" hosts Mocap

i can recommend www.superb.net, which is where i host the 3 web sites i designed & manage. Their prices are pretty good for what you get, and their customer service is EXCELLENT. Very nice, sweet Canadians. i've been with them for about 4 years now. They have everything from cheapie ($9/mo, prepaid) with 50 MB web space, to reasonable ($19/mo, prepaid) with 200 MB web space, to humongous dedicated servers & e-commerce setups for a LOT more. Basically, you only pay for what you need and use. Excellent uptime, decent throughput, too. Generous bandwidth allowances, too. --Nan

I have two accounts with olm.net and have been real happy with them. You can get 500mb, 10 GB/month transfer for $29.95 Servers have always been up and they are pretty fast. My site is www.planet-3d.com

You can try www.phpwebhosting as well they are 9.95 a month 125 meg of space. Up to 10 gig a month for transfer. They will warn/then throttle if you go over that (great for downloads, that way you don't get huge bills for bandwidth.) They are fast and reliable. I've been with them for 6 months and i've never been down.

$15.95 p/mth will get you 200Mb space, 6 gig transfer, unlimited email aliases, ftp, frontpage, cgi, etc. http://www.hostway.com I've been with them for over a year. Had a problem getting into ftp once. Emailed them and they got back to me within 2 hours and the problem was fixed immediately. If you find one as good for less, please let me know :)

I use Communitech.net and their UNIX standard plan. It offers mysql, miva empressa, php, and perl support, 250Mb of space, 25Gb of transfer per month. It costs $29.95 per month for a 3 month contract down to $22.95 per month for a 2 year contract. They also offer 25 subdomains for free, static non-virtual IP addresses, 100 POP3 email accounts (plus you can check mail via the web), and lots of web based account tools. I've been with them for over a year and am very happy with them. http://communitech.net/hosting/plans.cgi BTW: I don't work for them. ;-)
