Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 08 8:41 am)
I've been testing something similar, a morphable scene, and found out that if you make it (the Scene/Landscape) slightly transparent you could still separate the model from the BG using the Tiff Alpha channel, which makes it a lot easier to edit the image in a 2D art package. Unfortunately overlapping transparent model parts 'whites out' the gray in the Alfa making it as white as a solid model.

Yes it will but you might need the Mac conversion utility available at Soft Rabbits site. GeorgeDAnother note. I threw in the clouds model/materials for free because they are in a "beta" stage right now. It seems that the clouds at this time show up inverted in texture depending on how the lights are setup in Poser so it may take some playing with to get them to work correctly. Once I work out all the quirks on it I'll post the clouds in the Free Stuff for everyone. Also if there is anything anyone wants to see in future updates let me know. (( I know it's not in the store yet but I figured I would ask now while it was on my mind:) GeorgeD
Those images were rendered in Poser with no post work at all. I used Bryce and Photoshop made skies simply to show the terrains in an actual scene style enviroment without cluttering it with stuff that has nothing to do with the product. I also included some of the backgrounds shown in the product images for anyone who wishes to use them. I will also be posting more in the Free Stuff once the product is posted in the store. The point of this? Well that's easy...people who only own Poser might have a use for something like this. Heck even a few who own Bryce have shown interest in it. I feel this is a very unique product...maybe even one of a kind. If you like it great if you don't I'm sorry. Let me know what you would like to see and I'll do it up for you. But please don't judge something till you have either used it or seen the results for other users. It's only fair to everyone. Thanks, GeorgeD
this is a way cool idea GeorgeD! my suggestion is to put in 2d fog/cloud/haze textures and transmaps for people to apply to the 2d poser prop, they can place that along the horizon to create fog/cloud/haze the only trouble is apparently poser rendering will only allow 100% or 0% shadows, no partial shadows... it would be weird to have a semi transparent fog casting 100% shadow. it's all to do with placement i guess... another suggestion is to throw in light sets for this. lots of poser users are "studio" based, not outdoors. by the way Mesh Magick, the lighting and presence of fog/cloud/haze, along with the tex/bump on the mountain will make it "impressive" - no matter the actual size. :) lesse some poser renders of this folks!!! :) you got some George?

oh, of course! hehe... those are great textures... i can't even get them to look half as real in Bryce itself! that's another advantage of poserizing a terrain i guess, you cut out all the bryce variables and make it easy for folks like me who don't know the right settings!!! hmm, now i'm just getting jealous... i better take a walk. ;)

great terrain material, great ground fog! wow! (if this was a gallery pic, i'd nit about the lighting -- but as a product render, it's an excellent illustration!) congrats and goodluck on the sales!!!
