Heck with the P4NF mesh you can do a lot. What I'd like to see is multiple layered skin textures with varied levels of transparency and refraction. An oily outer surface layer, surface defects like scar tissue, inner layers with pigmentation and freckles, followed by deep inner layers with vascularity. That way with a very strong light you could get more detail to appear in a character.
A raytracer is not what makes a good renderer. Raytraced shadows are very unrealisitc. Ever see how many bad Bryce renders there are around..because of the razor sharp raytraced shadows? Go outside and LOOK...not many razor shadows are there. A raytracer can make more accurate shadows, but most of them around need something to handle the distance from the Shadow casting object and the one receiving them. The greater the distance between them, the softer the shadow edges. A good shadow-map rendered can give much more realistic shadows and much more control in adjusting them to your desires. Foxhollow ducks the chunks of Bryce Terrain being thrown
Thanks for observation ookami, I see what you mean. If you can see what it needs please inform me. Do you think it may be that the lashes are too light in color? Thanks again. skee

Posers main deficiency is the lack of diffusion map support. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING in the real world has SOME ammount of diffusion. You would be amazed at the difference a diffusion map makes. All those little details Director was talking about can be achieved with diffusion maps. Poser 5 wish list hint, hint. Not quite Final Fantasy, but good enough for me. (for right now)This is the most realistic poser figure I have created, rendered in lightwave, and can be seen here. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
