Silly question. I have CS1 and I need to deauthorize the software so i can migrate from a G4 to an intel iMac. How do I go about De-Authorizing the Software?

hey kort,

under the "Help" menu you should see the Deactivate option.

if it's greyed out, wait a little bit and try the menu again (it's sometimes slow to acknowledge)

Did you try uninstalling it? Sometimes that sends back a signal to Adobe. Otherwise, try installing it on the other machine. If it gives an error, you'll just have to call them on the phone. They're pretty good about it.

Yeah, they understand people buy new machines all the time, and they're usually pretty accomodating about it.
Like Kaji says, give 'em a call - with 1 call I transferred a license of After Effects I bought on ebay - no problem!

Thanks. I may have to call. I ran into this issue now...I am trying to install and upgrade version. It is asking me for the previous programs Serial#, which I doubt I have after all of these years.

Oops... You don't find that serial # and I'm afraid you're screwed...

Actually, did you register it with Adobe (I'm sure you did - just asking out of duty), because they might have your registry info on the Adobe site? It (registering) creates a basic account, and you can find your info - haven't done that in a few years, so I don't remember how to go about it...

if you launch the old Photoshop version, and then go to the About Photoshop menu item it will display the serial no.
