No you didn't miss anything. There is no node to do it. This is a shame - there are many interesting effects I could do if I had inline image manipulation tools in a shader.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Is there any way to use any of the material room nodes to blur an image (say a background image, or better yet the texture to a prop used in the background) without having to resort to photoshop first and then load it up? It would be soooo handy to blur an image from WITHIN poser.
Or have I overlooked an obvious poser capability (which wouldn't be the first time.)
