Over the past month and half I tried on numerous occasions to upload some of my new character creations to the Forum to share them with my fellow Poser people. For some reason it appears I have been banned from posting items to the FunStuff page. Since no one on the Forum is willing to explain this to me, I feel very unwanted and unwelcome. Therefore I am removing all the characters I have share on the PoserForm and will no longer post here. My FREE characters and props will still be available through my website: http://members.aol.com/revwhacker/ and I will remain on the Poser OneList. I will still post FREE characters from time to time on my site also. Please all you good people drop by my website from time to time and say hi. DAD, Can you explain to me what problems you are having uploading and I'll see if I can find out whats wrong?

It may have something to do with AOL, if that is where your site is, and if you are linking the file to the FS from AOL. It seems that AOL's security protocol to guard against warez sites affects all its members, regardless of the material (i.e.: everyone's guilty). Please reconsider your decision and let the Forum Admins see if they can work around the problem. Chances are it's just a bug in the scripts. I can understand how it would seem like you were unwelcome, and with no explanation to boot. One thing I have noticed about the Forum is that when you've been kicked (or otherwise are in danger of being dropped) they send out an email or post a note here addressed to you with an explanation of the problem. They at least give you a chance to repent and correct the error, so maybe it's just a glitch. Newc

By all the comments from us, it should be obvious to you that there is some kind of glitch that prevents you from uploading to the forum. Please reconsider, as you would be sadly missed if you do depart? I'm sure the admin. will look into your problem and rectify what they can on their end. Another friend at the forum........Radart.

I have no idea what you are talking about - but it would have been helpful if you wrote to me to ask for an explanation instead of making it appear that you have been left in the dark. If you were banned from the forum, you would not be posting here now. My email address is on the front page of the forum and I have NEVER seen any notice from you on the boards here or by email that you were having any problems - UNLESS you are gusing a different screen name. Asking questions would be the way to get things solved. ANY PERSON that has a problem on the forum always gets an answer when they ask.

Very good point by Willow! You would definitly not be able to access these parts of the forum whatsover if you were indeed banned. The forum staff are ALWAYS very prompt at replying to any concern that is brought to their attention. I think you have pre-judged the situation you were having. Let them know exactly what it is you are experienceing when you attempt to "upload" and I'm sure the problem can be resolved. Hi - I am new at all this. And I could easily put Poser on the shelf... But it is the amazing things created that put me back on track and tinker with it some more. With all due respect, "underdog", what are you talking about with this "crap" nonsense??!! This is clearly just an unfortunate technical error that has become overblown by lack of communication! There is no need to get so testy towards the forum just because of this mishap that was none of their doing!! "Friends" on the forum are trying to deter a fine contributer from leaving by finding out and rectifying what actually "has" caused this to happen! My sincere apologies for the "crap" part in that last post. A long time ago (last year sometime) there was another user on this forum (stormrage??) who had posted "questionable" art and it was removed without_explanation. Several people angrily complained about this and many of them left. If DAD is suffering the same form of silent censorship, I resent that. HOWEVER... I AM NOT AGAINST CENSORING THIS FORUM OR WEBSITE. I recognize that this is a private and commercial enterprise and that the owners have the RIGHT to control their product. But I DETEST the appearance of stealthy background movement, and removing things without explaining WHY. I AGAIN APOLOGIZE for jumping to conclusions here. I know that this has been done in the past. I think I saved a copy of the thread on this forum somewhere... but perhaps things are different now and I'll cut you some slack. I guess I was just worried that this may be the third time this has happened and perhaps there have only been only two. You will always receive a warning message about your post being deleted by a forum administrator if the deletion is going to count towards your 3 strikes. I'm not aware of any warning messages that have been sent to you, DAD. If you seem to be having a problem with not seeing your posts, you can always contact one of us or post to the News & Team Contact forum and we will reply promptly. If you look on the Team Contact board, there's currently a post on there about not finding a gallery image after it was posted. There is a forum bug that ignores the time of the posting and simply sorts by the date of the posting in the funstuff and the gallery. If you don't see it on the first page, check the second page.

I need to also add that the reason we're constantly seeing angry threads about censorship is because it has been handled so poorly in the past by people with power but no finesse. I truly think the reason your posts are not making it to the Forum is due to AOL. I have trouble posting through AOL, too. Both on the Fun Stuff and images on the message board. I have found a workaround by opening Netscape Navigator once I'm signed on with AOL and doing my posting through that browser. Netscape happened to come with my new Mac, but if you don't have it you can probably dl it from somewhere. Internet Explorer would probably work, too. Please try it before you give up on the forum. Why does censorship always come up at one of these threads? There's no mention of censorship or deleted posts by DAD. He said he was having trouble posting to the FunStuff, not having his stuff deleted. I realize it's fairly common for sites to panic and start deleting stuff, and I'm also aware that as forums and their leadership change hands so do certain aspects of it, but in the short few months I have been here I have not seen anything that was done without a good reason being given at the same time (as in within the same 30 minutes). Willow and the others have ALWAYS (during my time here) justified their actions with good reasoning and sometimes lengthy explanations. So please, let's refrain from putting words in someone else's thread, OK? Try to stick with the original topic if possible. I realize that things get heated around here, and tempers flare, but type your reply, read it a few times, go get something to drink, go to the can, then come back and maybe your anger will have subsided enough to re-think your message before you click the button to post it. Well, Newc, I read the first message. DAD speaks of being Banned and not getting any feedback from the Forum team. Maybe you read a different thread? This wasn't a thread about glitches this was a thread about DAD thinking he's been excluded. I'd love to see DAD back - and find this has all been a mixup over uploads. But - don't tell us we're making things up here when we reply to a thread you don't like.

I often go through the Funstuff and delete broken links... I always check to see if there is a link to the Zip file first that works before I do. This may have been the case, and since I've posted notes before about this, I don't send notices out regarding it. If I did this in error, I appologize to DAD. I checked his site, and there's nothing there that would be found objectionable. AOL sites still seem to allow liked images, so I don't think that was an issue...

Yes, I did mean the AOL browser. For some reason I can't load my images on the message board and most of the time my Fun Stuff posts won't work through the AOL browser either. If I go into Netscape, they work fine. ?????? Diane

Speaking of "booboos", I also had a thread get deleted somehow and I am going to repost it now. No email explaining why, so it MUST have been just another of those glitches?
