ย If you can find something that looks right, you could take a pic of it, then apply it onto a flattened cube to make a piece of the path, then maybe save a black and white image of it with some contrast added and (more experienced people please correct me here) some gaussian blur, then apply that as a bump map or displacement map.
Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. ย Oh, and it's free!
The only problem with using photos in this instance (and I was going to post a thread about this as well) is that this particular model I'm using has to be exported from Silo (the program I made it in) as a wavefront OBJ file (if I try 3ds there's always something wrong with it), and so far I've noticed thatย OBJย filesย don't seem to be able to use pictures as textures.....anyone else notice this?
Thanks even so everyone!
Depends on how it's UV Mapped.ย I've made .objs, uvmapped them and then used a photo as a texture before - works fine normally

By the way, a GREAT resource for textures, though it costs money, are the Dosche Designย textures, I got one for Stone, which has really sweet stuf like that, plus proper bump / specular maps :)

If you want to create your own normal maps, bump, displacement....ect try Crazy Bump it works great. I use it all the time.

Interesting point:
here in Scotland, the cobblestones in Glasgow and some other large towns & cities were granite, quite smooth/shiny.
Absolute evil b*stards though when icy, lol!!
Nearly all those cobblestones are gone, at leeast on the surface, in some places, when they dig the roads up for maintenance, you can see them underneath, sitll there.
:)

I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a good cobblestone texture, preferably one that has a worn, ancient look to it.ย
Thanks!
