Subject: Share your opinions about what you'd like to see? (very informal unofficial poll

Conniekat8 ( ) posted Tue, 22 April 2008 at 1:10 AM · edited Sun, 17 November 2024 at 7:43 AM

In light of recent discussions, I'm trying to get a feel for what various people may have interest in around here, and possibly if there are things that are significantly skewed, make them available for rendo's attention. Please be kind to answer a few questions, please be as brief or as explanatory as you like.

Do you create your own content?

Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies?

Do you sell your content here ot at some other site?

Do you make use of freebies?

Do you purchase content?

Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff?

Do you want to see more or less WIP threads?

Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process?

Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?

Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?

Would you like to see new forums?

Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here?

Galleries - more categories or less?

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?

Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on?

I make content, do freebies, and sell ( not here)

The forums here seem well allocated , there are obvious overlap areas between modelling and Poser /Daz studio but it all seems to work out. The poser technical and python forums might be better utilized though. By that I mean some questions posted in the poser forum might do better in one of the others . I view that though as a moderator function :)

I like the wip idea, but in my experiance many artists dont like revealing their work methods, so I dont know how well it would go.

I would be happier with a "annoucements" forum , where people could post about specials, sales , coming items and all that sort of stuff but I can appreciate renderosity wanting to push its own store especially with the break from Content Paradise.

I lost my string ages ago :( , you havent seen it have you ?   ;)

its about   .|,,,                                                    ,,,|,      that long ( and that an index finger :) )

I'd like to see more stuff for my remapped PosetteV3.  More free V3 skin textures that I can use on her, more conforming clothing, and more morphs.  And yes, I'm becreate my own content.  At present I'm building my own custom female figure (low-poly, but then 3ds Max abhors high-poly).  I've ten items in freestuff that I've created in the last year, plus my MP remap of Vic 4.1.

Since Posetteforever has become so hostile lately, I'd like to see a special Posette Forum here.

[shrug]I Guess so

Of course. I have benefitted from such things in the past (but not here).

Actually, both; depending on mood.

Maybe add
"Do you think that the MarketPlace Showcase + Freestuff Forums are sufficient for showing completed new items?" and...
"Do you think that WIPs belong in the Critique Forum?"

It is the 'universally accepted opinion of the scientific community' that the length of a piece of string equals the distance from one end of said string to the other end of said string, unless of course, Al Gore says otherwise. 😉

I'm not really sure the purpose of this thread. If you're expecting to see changes based on what members say, don't hold your breath. Renderosity has their own way of deciding on changes, and they mostly don't involve taking into consideration what we want.

Do you create your own content?

No. I can't model, and texturing is way too tedious and boring.

Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies?

The only thing I've managed to make and share with anyone is a set of Poser lights and some texture tiles.

Do you sell your content here ot at some other site?

Well, given that it seems that anyone can open a store here, I could probably get my lights and texture tiles in, but who would buy them?!  LOL

Do you make use of freebies?

OMG! YES! Absolutely! I am so grateful to people who have such talent to create things and the generosity to give them away!

Do you purchase content?

Yes.  Meshes and textures, and poses. I used to buy lights too but since I managed to figure out how to make my own I mostly make those myself, or tweak ones that I already have.

Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff?

They are of interest to others, so yes.  I do follow certain WIP threads if they are interesting, but for the most part the stuff is usually beyond my comprehension.

Do you want to see more or less WIP threads?

I am fine with WIP threads. Personally I don't really bother to follow them with great interest because I don't understand the whole process behind making things.  But I think those threads are great because they allow those who do have an interest to view and follow and even ask questions and ultimately learn.

Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process?

Not really sure what you mean by this.

Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?

If you are referring to their promo images, yes.  However, the process that went into making the item really doesn't interst me because it's stuff that is way over my head.

Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?

I liked the Poser forum as it was from days gone by. A ones stop forum where I can see what is new for freebies and contests, and just a general place to ask questions, post findings, and generally learn about Posr.

I hate the fact that there is such compartmentalization. There are way too many forums here and some forums are nearly completely dead, yet they still exist. IE: Contest Forum. NO ONE even goes there.  I remember not long ago I got "spanked" for posting a thread in the poser forum linking people to a great sounding contest in the contest forum. Yet the very next day one of the moderators posted a similar thread in the Free Stuff forum and when called on it, said that they were just trying to generate interest in the contest, and the thread remained for weeks. Yet it wasn't ok for me to do that.

Poser contests should be allowed in the Poser Forum, not suffled off to a forum that most peole don't even know exists.

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?

Yes.. Absolutely! As I already said above there are away too many forums, and they are way too compartmentalized to the point that many are nearly dead.

The Paint Shop Pro forum used to be quite active. Now it's lucky to get one or 2 threads per day. Someone suggested changing the name to "Corel Forum" to encompass all things Corel because Corel is changing Paint Shop Pro to a more photo application and many are switching to Corel Draw. I thought that was a good idea. However the way Renderosity does things they will probably create a whole separate forum called "Corel Draw."

Would you like to see new forums?

God no! We have more than enough of them.

Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here?

No. I would love it if they did their WIP threads here. However, if they are advertising the release of their commercial products, I think that should still be done in the Merchants Forum.

Galleries - more categories or less?

The galleries should be sorted by theme, not by application created in. Especially since many use Poser or Vue or Bryce or Carrara etc to make their scene. It's stupid to have images sorted by program because the program(s) the images were created in is irrelavent and the main thing is the end result.

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?

Both. I like quality. But at the same time this is a hobby for me and not a business and I don't make money off of my hobby, so price is a consideration.

Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on?

Probably, but I can't think of any off the top of my head right this minute.

How long is a piece of string?

I guess it depends on the size of the persons' butt !!!

I don't expect that some of them can explicitly tell others !  It's just a process which they instinctively know or have internalised through experience.  Nice to know, though.

Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?
Busy is fine; specific discussion can always be taken off-forum among a small group using PM.

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?
Maybe - only if these are related to Poser or can be consolidated under a common umbrella.

For vendors - it may not always be a wise thing to do, unless they have a stage-managed "revelation" process to whet the appetities of prospective customers.  Freebie makers may want to show their WIP and talk about it - more as a common learning experience, I suppose.

I make my own content, create stuff for freebies (though only small widgets) and make extensive use of freebie items. I dont sell content but do buy it occasionally or if i need something quickly and am able to find it in the markets. The rest i make myself. I love WIP threads and would like to see more such threads, but in the critique forum rather then here. If one of the really awesome artists were to do it then that's even better eg i would kill for a WIP thread by stonemason. I like all sorts of topics, though i wish people would stop being so damned thin skinned about everything. Less witch hunts and more discussions please. Take your grievances with any freebie/merchant/site to PMs instead of lighting torches in the forum.

I don't think consolidation is a good idea as the poser forum moves too fast and all those smaller forums would simply get lost in the rush of threads here. I wouldn't mind vendors talking about their products as long as it's allowed for everyone. I do see how it could quickly fill the forum with nothing but sales pitches however so maybe it's not a very practical idea. About content, no fixed consideration. Quality matters of course and for some items i will buy them irrespective of price if i think they are really well made. A fair price is always a bonus though as is originality.

String theory theorizes that all strings are nothing but shadows of the cosmic superstring that relates gravity, matter and energy to the length of a cat's tail. Cat's with exceedingly long tails result in naked singularities in a temple with a sword (and fancy knickers) The length of all strings therefore depends entirely on how the dimensional vector of the string was collapsed by a cute picture of a cat on a forum.

Do you create your own content?
Not at the moment but I've got quite a lot of merchant resources in order to do just that.

**Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies?
**See above

Do you sell your content here ot at some other site?
I'd be more inclined to use the RMP as it appears to be the one site that caters for all tastes

Do you make use of freebies?
Yes

Do you purchase content?
Yes - too much!!

Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff?
Not usually - but the recent one on GND was really illuminating as a budding content creator

**Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?
**In general, I think that there's a general lack of material on creating content - especially using modelling tools like Hexagon and Pegasus (I know new and buggy)

**Would you like to see new forums?
**One of Hexagon would be nice, or (sub-d) modelling

Galleries - more categories or less?
Same - I like the ability to search by software and/or genre (especially as I use Poser, Vue and sometimes Carrara)

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?
Quality

Do you create your own content?
I do create my own morphs from time to time & I've been known to dabble in texture creation wizardry, but I'm no expert.

Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies?
I did once a long time ago, I created a texture for the Daz Ghost & actually shared it here for a while, the original files vanished into the mists though so I won't be sharing it again.

Do you sell your content here or at some other site?
I've never sold anything, too much hassle with all those silly quality rules they put in place round here ;)

Do you make use of freebies?
YES!!!!!! Freebies are what got me hooked on Poser in the beginning, that & chatting to all the other users & creators.

Do you purchase content?
I used to spend loads on content, had to cut back a lot & now only buy something I KNOW I'll use more than once.

Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff?
Yes, it's always interesting to see how the experts get what they're after.

Do you want to see more or less WIP threads?
More please, lots more.

Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process?
It would be nice, but would you really want me peering over your shoulder whispering my ideas about your latest in progress creation all the time?

Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?
Who wouldn't?

Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?
A bit of both really.

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?
No, not unless the other forums to be consolidated were 100% Poser specific, anything else just wouldn't fit in here.

Would you like to see new forums?
Depends what they're for, if it's new software, then yes.

Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here?
No, it would save me having to go to 300 different places to find out what's going on & who's bringing out a new shiny I must have ;)

Galleries - more categories or less?
Less, lots less, I remember when Poser was the only category you needed to upload a render from Poser.

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?
Quality is more important than price to me, if it looks good & I really want it I'll buy it, if it looks like a piece of crap, you couldn't pay me enough to take it off your hands.

Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on?
Probably but this is a family forum :p

Do you create your own content? Yes. Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies? Yes. :) Do you sell your content here or at some other site? No, I'm not ready to do that. I may never be. Making freebies gives me pleasure; making content for sale would be more like work. Since I'm independently wealthy and very shy, I don't need the vast quantities of money and fame that come with being a Poser merchant. :D Do you make use of freebies? Duh. Sorry, I mean yes, of course. Do you purchase content? Yes, and sometimes I even use it! Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people who really know their stuff? Yes - but you can also learn from WIP threads by people who don't know their stuff. Do you want to see more or less WIP threads? I wouldn't want anyone who wants to post a WIP thread to be put off from doing it, if that's what you mean. Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process? Yes. However I don't want to know what the content makers who aren't my favourites are up to, so what you gonna do? :) I used to be subscribed to the Product Showcase Forum until the rules changed. I skipped most of the posts, but the one or two that were interesting made it worthwhile. Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene? Yes, if they want to do that. Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose? I like them both. From the point of view of asking a question of my own, sometimes I need a large spread of relatively unspecialised opinion; sometimes I want the focussed advice of a small number of experts. Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum? No - see answer above. Would you like to see new forums? When there are new applications or topics that suggest a new specialised forum, yes. Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here? No, as long as the threads were marked as such. Galleries - more categories or less? Don't care... I rarely browse by category. Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality? I wouldn't buy something purely because it was cheap; and if it was obviously of low quality, I'd rather make my own unless I was in a real hurry. I generally buy things because they're better quality than what I could make for myself, and not too expensive. I wouldn't pay a lot for content unless I thought I was going to get a lot of use out of it. I paid out for V4, for example, because I expect to use her a lot; I might spend a moderate amount on hair, because I can't make that myself; but would be less likely to spend a lot on an outfit that I might only use in one image. Are there things I didn't think of asking here... Yes! ...that you want to share your opinion on? Oh, uh, no. How long is a piece of string? Either not quite long enough to get the job done, or far too long so it gets tangled up. Dangles string for kitty

Yes, generally skin textures, hair, utilities or merchant ressources. I tend to not purchase clothing anymore as i'm able to model some ^^

Definitely! It's really great to follow the progress of something, whatever it could be :)

Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process?***

It would be a great feature, for both the maker and the futur user. Melting ideas will always gives good results ^^

Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?

Yes! But i doubt everyone would agree to share their own secrets ;)

Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?

Both. It really depends on what you are looking for. Sometimes it could be a very general question, so every advices could be helpy. Sometimes you want to focus on something more 'technic' and so need more precise answers.

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?

No.

Would you like to see new forums?

If they feed a need, why not. But having numerous forums only for the sake of choice where to post is not a good thing.

Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here?

No, it would avoid to peek through many places to find who is doing what.  I don't say that because i'm a vendor though ^^

More category?? Is it possible?? No, less please!!

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?

*Do you create your own content?
*No. Sometimes I am just able to tweak an existing texture, but I am not a modeler and I am very sorry about it. Oh, I have created some liveries for Flight Simulator aircrafts.

*Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies?
*If I was able to create content, it would be free. My liveries were.

*Do you sell your content here ot at some other site?
*No. I do not believe I would be able to gain money from this hobby, so it would only be a bureaucratic problem. Everything would be free.

*Do you make use of freebies?
*Of course, and I have Maximum Respect for freebies creators. May them live long and prosper.

*Do you purchase content?
*Yes, but only when my wife is not looking.  ;)

*Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff?
*I like WIP threads by everyone. It's great to look at good works and maybe offer some advice. It makes me feel part of the community.

*Do you want to see more or less WIP threads?
*The right amount, that is, like it is now.

*Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process?
*By all means yes, like I said before.

*Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?
*Another big yes. I am very low in the Poser food chain and I have everything to learn from almost everyone.

*Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?
*Good question. Usually I prefer less forums, and maybe a more specialized categorization of titles using [TAGS].

*Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?
*Of course. I always feel like I am missing something because I have no time to browse all the other forums.

*Would you like to see new forums?
*Only if they are REALLY needed.

*Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here?
*I am for absolute freedom of speech concerning commercial and free content.

*Galleries - more categories or less?
*Definitely MORE categories. Why not a Super-heroes category, for example?  (yes, I am biased). But categories are good for searching (if the search engine is good).

*Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?
*Living in the Wealthy And Rich Italy  (and now with Silvio it will be even better)... definitely price. In the past I used to spend much more money here, now I must walk very carefully on thin ice. I will seriously limit my expenses here.

*Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on?
*Not at the moment...

*How long is a piece of string?
*It depends from the language. Sometimes it's 255 chars, sometimes 65535, but usually in modern structures they are just limited by the available memory.

Quote - Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?

You need both, for reasons of balance. Having too many tends to distract and confuse, while having too few tends to drown out the conversations.

Quote - Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?

I think they need to sit down and re-think the way they've got 'em divvied-up more than figure out how many they have, and jettison or consolidate the dead ones. Lest anyone accuse me of armchair quarterbacking, we're going through a similar process right now @ Renderotica as we rebuild the site.

Quote - Galleries - more categories or less?

See above - same story. :)

Quote - Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?

Functionality, actually.

Depends on the string... there's a whole branch of physics dedicated to answering that question now. ;)

I would like to see an OT forum for the OT threads.

the rules for said forum would be: no politics, religion nor kiddie porn.
just keep it friendly, as in the OT posts here.  the users have shown sufficient maturity
to moderate their own speech when the above three topics are excluded.

Do you create your own content?
Yes. Dynamic clothing, figures, and meshes. No textures.
I always use my own lights and cameras, and while I use premade poses as starting points, I always tweak them for the scene at hand.
**
Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies?**
Yes. Mostly dynamic clothing, also some conforming clothes and standalone figures. Plus Python scripts.

Do you sell your content here ot at some other site?
Not yet, but there's a package in the making.

**Do you make use of freebies?
**Yes. Quite a lot, actually

Do you purchase content?
Yes. My credit card hates me by now.

**Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff?
YES! I can learn quite a lot from those threads, and I incorporate what I learn into my selfmade content. I think that my newer freebies are higher quality than my oldies, at least partly due to what I've learned from this kind of thread.
**
Do you want to see more or less WIP threads?
More!

Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process?
Yes. See my view on WIP threads.

**Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?
**Yes. There's always so much more to learn!

**Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?
**Busy forums are more fun. Also, when starting a thread, it's easier to figure out in what forum it should go. Last but not least, I tend to scan the busier forums for interesting threads - fewer forums means easier scanning. So I prefer the more general forums.

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?
Could be useful. For example, Poser Technical and Poser Python Scripting often have threads that cross over from the inner workings of Poser to Python and back, it would be better IMO to merge these forums.

Would you like to see new forums?
Can't think of another forum that would be useful here.

**Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here?
**No. As long as it's not blatantly commercial, I would LIKE to read about products, their pros and cons, user experiences and wishes and such in the main Poser forum.

Galleries - more categories or less?
Get rid of the different applications and allow more than one genre per upload. Many, if not most of the uploads in the galleries have been created using multiple applications.
And many uploads fit in more than one genre. Every single image I've uploaded fits at least two genres, often as many as four or five.
Some genres don't make sense to me. "Insects" for example - I thnk that it should be renamed to "macro", so closeups of water drops and stalks of grass would sit in the same genre as closeups of beetles and spiders.
Oh, and we're definitely missing the NVIATWAS genre!

**Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?
**Quality. Although price is a consideration too. More than once I decided not to buy a high quality item, because I thought it was too expensive. But I will NEVER buy an item when I know it is of mediocre quality, no matter how cheap.

Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on?
Probably, but I can't think of anything right now.

Not really. How would you consolidate, say, Amapi in with Poser? Perhaps an all-purpose, miscellaneous 3D forum that would cover the lesser 3D fora?

Would you like to see new forums?

Would depend on the nature of the new fora.

No, but I've always been a radical in that regard....

Yes, at times when I can't find an object needed in a store.

Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies?
No

Do you sell your content here ot at some other site?
No (I only sell my poser related games at CP)

Do you make use of freebies?
Yes, but only when I know for sure that the license doesn't get changed tomorrow. I don't download freebies here for that reason, I do find that at times the license isn't clear and in some occassions I've seen the license of items change over time. I prefer downloading freebies at DAZ and CP, I know the creator has been paid for it's effort and the freebie is a sale item free for a limited period of time only.

*Do you purchase content?
*Yes

No, since a good number of these items never get released or end up unafordable.

Not really, lack time for that anyway.

Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?
No, since they're aren't any top artists at all. All this creates a division in the community and often the real artist get ignored anyway.

narrowly defined purpose.

No

Less and if possible give all the nudity stuff their own galleries.

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?*
It's a mix, mainly price, but low price and low quality I don't buy.

Yes

Do you make use of freebies?
Not as a majority of the content I use, but some ae super handy. Especially scripts and utilities.

Do you purchase content?
Yes, and every now and then I use it too.

Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff?
Yes, from just about anyone. If I lose interest in it, I'll just bypass it.

Do you want to see more or less WIP threads?
More, I LOVE WIP threads. I go to places like Zbrush central, CG Society and 3D total just for those. I'd love to see more in here. You can learn from both, people whom know more then you, and from advice offered to those whom don't.

Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process?
Definately! Someone mentioned a WIP by Stonemason... or Aery Soul, or DM... WIP from anyone whose work we admire would be a cherry!

Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?
Absolutely! Great learning opportunity.

Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?
I like large busy forums where threads can be categorized, or possibly ignored if I want to filter through things. I'm not very good at checking 25 forums that may have one or two new threads each. It's the time factor too. End up missing a lot of stuff.

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?
Yes, like Critique and Art Theory could be one forum. Poser Technical, python and Developers perhaps? 3d forum could encompass Sub-D modeling and several smaller apps, like Wings, Hexagon and what not. It would still not be busy enough to get confusing.  There are others....  But I'm going off the top of my head here. To do it right whomever does it would have to sit down and think things through.

Would you like to see new forums?
Not if it's going to result in another forum with three posts a week.

Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here?
Not at all, I'd love to see them - if they were tagged so I can scan past them when I'm not in the mood.

Galleries - more categories or less?
More then two genre choices. I'm not too much into application specific classification. Categorization could use a facelift.

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?
Definately Quality.

Generally I'd say yes. I've always liked to follow what AerySoul does so to see some other creators do this would be a good thing. I guess alot of vendors wouldn't have the time or inclination to do this though. It's their choice.

Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene?
Most definitely. It'd be fascinating to see how some of the top works looked through the creation process. Alot of work goes through a number of apps so you could pick up techniques.

Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose?
I like to see somewhere where's there's a place for everyone. I think we have a good number of forums here, alot of the top apps are covered but I know there could be a couple more additions. I think it's also important to have a place where you can help & learn in the serious stuff but also chill out with other like minded people. I find this Poser forum pretty good in this aspect.

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum?
Depends. If it's a particular niche then it's probably best to stay as their own otherwise it could get swamped under.

Would you like to see new forums?
If it was to be popular & useful then yes.

Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here?
**It would annoy me immensly.
No, only kidding. So long as the forum wasn't took over by them then I think it's a good idea. It would keep people informed so they could make a better judged decision on whether or not to go for the particular product because they could have more of an understanding of the quality.
**

Galleries - more categories or less?
I think it's OK as it is.

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality?
Generally, it would have to be the quality. I would rather spend more money on one great product than spend less on two average ones. I would imagine people wouldn't hesitate to part with their money if they know the vendor will give them the quality they are looking for. As an example, most AerySouls' products are quite pricey in comparison to most other vendors, but I don't mind because I know the quality they are going to give me.

Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on?
Yes. You never asked me if this would be difficult to type at 4 am!

How long is a piece of string?
Twice as long as it is from the middle to end.
It's amazing over the years how many people have asked this!

CK8 - Thanks for asking!

Do you create your own content? – No, but I want to learn how.

Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies? - No, but I would like to.

Do you sell your content here or at some other site? - No.

Do you make use of freebies? - Yes, if their use is unrestricted.

Do you purchase content? – Yes, I buy a lot of content, up to $1000 (USD) per year.

Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff? – Yes.

Do you want to see more or less WIP threads? – More.

Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process? – Yes.

Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene? – Yes.

Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose? – Busy and broad.

Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum? – I want the Poser Forum for Poser related themes, otherwise I am neutral on this question.

Would you like to see new forums? – If they are useful.

Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here? – NO! As a consumer, I need all the information I can get to make good decisions about purchases. I have over a GIG of things I have bought and then was not pleased, or it did not do what I wanted.

Galleries - more categories or less? – I am afraid to post in the galleries.

Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality? Quality, quality, quality, quality, and price.

Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on? I am tired of the flaming, trolling, and personal attacks on people. We are losing good members because of the malicious tone in the forums.

How long is a piece of string? As long as you will let your cat make it.

LMK

Do you create your own content? Yes! Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies? Once Do you sell your content here or at some other site? No, never. Do you make use of freebies? Yes! Do you purchase content? God Yes Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff? Yes, and by people trying to learn their stuff as well. Do you want to see more or less WIP threads? More Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process? Definitely. Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene? Sure, if they’re willing to spend the time on that. Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose? A forum that isn’t busy depresses me. Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum? Yes. Then maybe I’d actually see the less busy forums. Would you like to see new forums? It depends on what the forum is for. Silo could use a forum. Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here? No. Galleries - more categories or less? I look at every category so I don’t care. Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality? A little of both. I won’t buy junk at any price but I won’t buy quality if it’s overpriced, because, frankly, who needs any of this stuff? Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on? If I think of any, I’ll let you know. How long is a piece of string? Which string?

Do you create your own content? Do you create content for other poser users and share them as freebies? Do you make use of freebies? Do you purchase content? Yes. Do you sell your content here ot at some other site? No. Do you like Work in Progress (WIP) threads by people whom really know their stuff? I prefer tutorials. WIP threads tend to be nothing more than "here's a series of images of the great new thing I'm making for you to buy." Not much substance there. Do you want to see more or less WIP threads? Don't care as I don't find them useful or bothersome. *Would you like to see/know what your favorite content makers are up to and have a chance to make input, or learn from the process?*A chance to learn? Yeah. Likely to happen, I'm sceptical. Would you like to see some of the top artists post WIP's of how they think through and put together a scene? Sure. Do you like busy general broad spectrum of topics forums or forums with fewer participants and more narrowly defined purpose? Both. Would you like to see some of the less busy rendo forums consolidated, or even brought under the umbrella of Poser forum? Maybe. Some I like having separate, even if they aren't very busy. Would you like to see new forums? Not really. Would it bother you if vendors and freebie makers were allowed to talk about their projects in here? They can now. What they can't do is start a thread about a product. Galleries - more categories or less? Fewer. Content - what's a bigger consideration for you, price or quality? I consider both. Are there things I didn't think of asking here, that you want to share your opinion on? Yeah, how come getting useful info or getting people to share what they are doing can be like pulling teeth, but get a thread where people can yell loud angry opinions over essentially pointless topics, and it'll run to a hundred pages if it isn't locked first? :P How long is a piece of string? Usually just too short to be of use for the current project.

I'm giving this thread a bump because I just linked it to a discussion in Vendors Forums.
Maybe few more people decide to speak up and offer their thoughts :)
