Increarse the polygon count, to make trees look better ;)
But yes, I and many others have long wished for more variety and editability in the Veg editor :(

Agree with you, stock Vue trees don't look good in the foreground. I really hope e-on gives away a few new trees whenever Vue7 is out, because many of the stock plants come from at least Vue3, which was ages ago. Even the ones that come from Vue4Pro don't look good enough by todays' standards and hadware capabilities.

I dream of E-On partnering with Greenworks in giving Vue part of XFrog technology integrated with SolidGrowth... hmmm, high time to wake up.
Bye!!!
GIMP 2.7.4, Inkscape 0.48, Genetica 3.6 Basic, FilterForge 3 Professional, Blender 2.61, SketchUp 8, PoserPro 2012, Vue 10 Infinite, World Machine 2.3, GeoControl 2
There have been a few new trees at Cornucopia (the new ash tree for example) that are very high poly count and look great even up close. Not so great for ecosystems, but really nice for up close "hero" trees.
That would be cool though - XFrog + GeoControl and Vue all combined into one app.

I agree with Peggy here, imo the stock Vue trees are ment for background rendering (thus not so extreem close-up in a camera view) However i do find some of them good enough for a 'closer' render, but than again this all depends a bit on the total view of the scene i guess. And if you use these for eco 's, your 'puter usually stays happy with it :-)

I don't want to downgrade the amazing things that solid growth can do, but I've noticed a couple things that I think should be improved. First, there should be more subsets for most of the trees. Now I know some of the pine trees and other trees available at cornucopia allow you to adjust different subsets(i.e., trunks and branches) but most of the trees that come standard with Vue have one subset (while a lot of the plants have two). Secondly, branches often end without tapering, and by that I mean that they end with thick, rounded edges.
It's odd to me also that there aren't more options. I used Bryce a lot before turning to Vue, and though Bryce trees in no way compare to Vue trees, there were still more options in Bryce for modifying them.
Again, I really love Vue trees. I was just hoping that people might know some ways to make them even better.
Thanks guys!
