Don't know that person, but hopefully they just want attention or are depressed. The admins would know who it really is.

I sent the link to Jumpstartme2. She's an admin and should have access to that kind of information. So maybe she can do something.

While the Net has a lot of attention seeking fakers, this gave me a serious chill down my
spine when I read it. It reeks of despair. I truly hope someone can do something. I've seen
many of the fakers in my many years online, but this does NOT sound the same. Often, suicidal
people will cry out for help, through phone, Net, or any medium available. This, usually, means
there is time to act, if possible. Whuever this is, they will be in my prayers since that is all I
can do.

I'm pretty sure admins can see each user's IP address, which means they can find out at the minimum what city it's coming from, and contact local authorities... they can figure out where the person lives and check on them.
Hopefully it's not as serious as we think it is.

Maybe it's just an art series, and the person will be re-birthed symbolically under a different user ID, hopefully.

Yeah, don't want anyone to come to grief in association with this place.

That scifi-mesh site sent me an email and ip address that they have listed. I tried sending an email but it came back as "suspended", and I don't  know how to trace IP addresses, so I passed along the info to Jani and asked her if she could look into it and maybe contact the police in his/her area to see if they can go and check on him/her.

I also heard from ShareCG. They sent an email to the address they have on file. Unfortunately they do not have an IP address.

Yeah, Police can do what's known around here as a 'welfare check' help figure out where the person lives, come knock on the door and see if they're okay, or if in need of medical help.

Alex, speaking as someone who's been there, if this person was serious, they may be looking for help they can't ask for. I can't explain what it is like to want the pain to end and not be able to ask for help, even though you want it. It's one of those things that's hard to understand unless you've been there, to want toend the pain so much that you are willing to kill yourself even though you don't truely want to die.

Most suicidal people just want to stop the pain, and see no other way to do it. It has nothing to with being a coward,and everything to do with not knowing where to turn or where to go for help. The whole thing about being a coward for feeling suicidal is one big stereotypical harmful misconseption!!!

If you want to trace an IP address, download the free Sam Spade. It will even trace through proxy servers. Just run a search for Sam Spade.
