Does Poserfusion work on 64bit systems???

The docs say:
"Requirements: Poser Pro and Max 9/2008 (32-bit) from Autodesk."

Does that mean 32bit is the minimum (duh!) or that it won't run on 64bit?

No they do not support the 64-bit versions of teh host applications at this time.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!

This is just beyond belief!!!!

How can you call this a "Pro" application when one of your main features won't work with the professional apps in a 64bit environment????

We're suppose to install Poser on a 64bit system and then run Maya or Max in 32bit??? Is this a joke?

Who dreamed up this nightmare?

You could try using Collada instead. It may not be as cool as the hosting plugin but it's an option.

No more free support for open-source COLLADA tools](http://www.feelingsoftware.com/content/view/107/34/lang,en/) Wednesday, 05 March 2008 Feeling Software has stopped development on the open-source COLLADA tools (FCollada, ColladaMaya, ColladaMax and ColladaMotionBuilder) and will no longer offer free support for these COLLADA tools.

Guess how much they want for support... $2,600 for a 6 month contract.

Hey, guess what else....

ColladaMax, & ColladaMaya **only support 32bit!

So basically it's **

"Sure, you can render in Poser using 64bits, but if you want to get your data in the professional packages you will need to go back to 32bit."**

Have you tried using the CROSSWALK plugins ? They allow you to import/export stuff to and from Maya, MAX and XSI via COLLADA and can also open standalone COLLADA files. They work for me for importing D|Studio COLLADA exports into XSI so it's worth trying for MAX also:

http://www.softimage.com/downloads/Crosswalk/default.aspx

The same installer should detect whatever app you have installed, and yes it runs on 64 bit.

Ah, hadn't realized Collada wasn't supporting 64 bit. I'm on a 32 bit OS and I've only been testing on my system.   Crosswalk is great in XSI for getting Collada files in from Poser Pro, that I've done tests on myself.

Keep in mind that you can install both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of 3DS Max 9 and 2008 on a 64-bit OS.  In fact, I think Max 2008 installs both by default unless you tell it otherwise.  That's what I've got, and Poserfusion is working fine in the 32-bit version on the 64-bit OS.

This isn't any different than several other plugins.  For example, the skin shaders for Vue work only in 32-bit, not 64-bit.

Check out how the Mod closed this thread over a the CP forums...

*"The plug-ins were updated to fix a number of major issues as well as supporting all of the latest versions of the host apps which in some cases Reiss was two versions behind. We also added Mac support for C4D and has been stated publicly are working on Lightwave. We had to make the choice to port to 64bit later when prioritizing. Remember we were acquired? Hence the reason for the delay.

Enough of the personal insults, ridiculous speculation, and whining. You guys nothing of the development team their backgrounds or their situation.

Thread Closed..."*

**
I'd close the thread too if somebody highlighted what a joke my product was.**

I personally was promised by Reiss Studio, over ONE YEAR AGO,  that 64bit support was coming "any day". I was promised this multiple times.

Here's what we're left with:

PoserPro has been market as being all about getting your data into professional apps AND harnessing the poser of 64bit computing.

Now we find out these two features are basically INCOMPATABLE!!! You can either render in 64bits, OR get your data into other packages (in 32bit only)
