When I save and image from my gallery and try to read EXIF, there is no EXIF.   What am I doing wrong or is it the system?  If you have an EXIF reader, please check out a couple of my gallery shots and let me know if the data is there and perhaps I cannot read it for some reason.

For instance, an image will be shot in raw, processed in Lightroom and Photoshop CS2, "saved to web" in Photoshop and posted.  Then, checking back I see no exif in the image.

Will simply saving as a jpg and not using "save to web" keep the data intact?

Using the "save to web" does eliminate the EXIF data (to help reduce size) ... I use it for thumbnails mostly. Saving as JPG will keep the data intact.

On a semi-related note, I have found a program called PhotoMe that will allow you to copy the EXIF data from one photo (for example, an original photo with embedded EXIF), and paste it into another photo that doesn't have any EXIF data (a resized/edited photo). This is useful to me since I use an old version of Paint Shop Pro that does not support EXIF information. I am not familiar with Photoshop and Lightroom, so I don't know if they will allow you to "add" the EXIF data after the file has been exported/saved. If not, PhotoMe will allow you to add the EXIF data to your "Save For Web" photos assuming you have the originals to copy the EXIF data from. PhotoMe is freeware.

yes, thats the problem you have, if you use save for web then you lost all exif data and it will not showing up if you post an image

Along these lines.. Anyone use Corel Photo-paint 12 or X3? I recently had a PC crash, had to reformat. I have Corel 8, but its so old I think its time to update.

Wondering if  CPP 12 can handle RAW images and also the exif data, as 8 doesn't.

I can get 12 for about 40$ cheaper on ebay than x3. If they basically are the same.. I will save the $ and go with 12.

I do recall now that "save to web" in Photoshop™ deletes exif.  Should have known. 

I tried in PSP and the JPG Optomizer works similar to "save to web" and eliminates the exif. Saving straight to jpg keeps the data in the image.  You click options in the save window and set the compression level..not as easy as in Photoshop but it works and keeps the exif embedded.

I know CPP X2 handles Raw because that's what I use most of the time.

Yes, save to web strips the exif data.....but the whole issue is really a moot point because exif data doesn't really mean very much because it can be easily edited/modified.

Want to change the date when the pic was taken?....no problem....even the freeware program listed in this thread allows you to do that.....

The free Irfanview is not only a superb viewer, but also a top quality jaypegger.
I prefer it to Photoshop. Here. I've said it.
PS is great for everything between RAW (Bibble) and Irfanview (for the jpg of the file), that is: masks, masks and masks and adjustment layers. With masks.

**I'm not sure what, if anything, your response has to do with this thread. I merely pointed out the fact that for the most part EXIF data is meaningless...changing the date is what most folks would like to edit in their exif data likely because one of two things... they had incorrectly set the date in the cam...and the fact that the cam clocks are inherently inaccurate.

If you took the time to click on the link provided by the other member...you will also notice the change of date feature shows up on the very FIRST screenshot.

Although, I sincerely hope it's not the case....but, your post comes across as insinuating that I would change the exif date to enter a contest here. 
Also, FYI I have never entered a photo forum contest here......yet.
