Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 5:12 pm)
what a great texture! I love it and would love to see it made for the dCort sea nymph, mermaid and p4fem/vic2 head and body texture too, LOL!!! Maybe just a few of them should actually be shaped irregularly too and not just tilted in other directions...you know, as if they were bent or broken or worn a bit around the edges. Just a thought :)

I think you are doing a good job with it. It's very tough to get good metalic appearance in Poser. :-) I've been spending a lot of time tweaking poser textures in Bryce to get the look I'm going for on my current WIP and I just can't imagine how I would have been able to do it just in Poser! When you do work on the trim, I think you could make the trim a siler or gold metal, rather than the curled scales. I know that you know that it needs work there, I just wanted to offer that as a possibility. The texture has depth, so you probably are using a bump map, but if not, try making a bump map by making a grey scale copy of yuor texture. You can fiddle with gamma and brightness/contrast to get the detail where you want it for the bump. I haven't fiddled with reflection maps in Poser, but someone a week or two here in the forum posted some nice results on the same armour that really brought the metalic texures alive. since you want a metalic look, serch for tutorials or in the manual on how to use reflection maps, it would add a lot. :-) Just to offer a different take on Green Dragon Scale armour, the link on this post is for an image I did over a year ago. I didn't go as metalic, but it might be interesting to see what I did? I think the dragon scale itself was from a free texture at Chemical Studios? It wasn't the color I wanted, but it was a good starting point. The website is linked over on the right under "web ring top 15". When you get to the straps, I would go a dark leather with a fine bump for added texture. I really do think you've done an excellent job, but I tried to throw out as many constructive suggestions as I could come up with! :-)This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
