PropViewer is an application that allow you to view obj, 3ds, dxf and Poser files.

What's new in bersion 2

  • Now you can view hr2 and cr2 files too.
All the pp2, hr2 and cr2 must have internal geometry as it was in version #1, if you want to see
files that use external geometry look at the obj file instead.

  • You are able to view dynamic hair in hr2, pp2 or obj files.

  • Read 3ds files in a correct way, something that Posers not always do.

  • DXF files continue to be limited to 3DFACE entities.

  • You can export as obj or as pp2, in other words PropViewer 2 can be used as a format    converter (obj, 3ds, dxf, pp2, hr2 and cr2 to obj or pp2)

  • You can save what you see as image, for the moment only as bmp.

  • PropViewer 2 fix corrupted meshes removing corrupted faces (a traingle with two sides, with duplicated vertices, etc).

  • If a mesh has no texture mapping PropViwer 2 create texture coordinates in an automatic way.
Not always the texturing will be good, but is better than nothing.

Hi Kawecki!

I found a version 2.0  of this utility in your frestuff, tested it and it was really nice.
It seems to be from 2002-06-01 so im very curious about your new version.

Best regards / Jonny

Excellent news, looking forward to this. I use Prop Viewer regularly, and these are exactly the sorts of enhancements that will make it even more useful. Mine is version 2.0, as well - it was released some time ago, so you can be forgiven for forgetting. :)

That's the same version I get.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Is it free?

Quote - Is it free?

YES.

I don't keep track of the versions, is only a war name even in my computer it has a different name and what exist is only the latest version.
In the present moment I am working in two projects at the same time, the PropViewer and the dynamic hair converter and both are the same thing. I enhance one part and the other part.
I started with the dynamic hair converter so I have to change the structure of my nucleous to support lines and the chnages propagated to other modulesm nodules that are not needed for hair, but I chnaged and improved to be compatible with the new structure and these chnages I have to propagate to other software that I use for creating models.
When all is ready I shall sepparate the PropViewer and the hair converter into two different entities.
