Ok so Im waiting to see some renders made in poser of her and all her newest EXPENSIVE addons. I wont be able to afford her for some time so, post some pics

Gareee ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 10:00 AM

They are already posted over in Daz's forums.. why do they need to be duplicated here as well?

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

winter200 ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 11:02 AM

I was hoping to see some renders too. Don't think I'm going to buy, but my mind could always be changed especially if I see renders done other then DazStudio and not only from merchants. I also wonder how heavy the shaders are. Will they kill my poser!

sweetpegster ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 11:05 AM · edited Fri, 11 July 2008 at 11:11 AM

well last i looked garee no one had posted a shot in poser. only in daz. but hell everything is basically a duplicate these days so whats the big deal.

-BrandyE- ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 12:07 PM

i love the elite morphs, (which purchased seperataly aren't expensive at all..)  The Fantasia shape is WONDERFUL..curvy, powerfulr..very earth mother. working on a render now..will link to it when done.

Gareee ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 12:31 PM

Actually the "big deal" is these are unique NEW textures, not rehashes of all the stuff already out there, but done with a VERY high res camera, and even lossless tif textures are provided.

Daz even created their own special shaders, to get even more "reality" out of them you normally see. I have seen poser renders using them over there, and some are just jaw dropping, but they are really aimed at the pro market, rather then the casual hobbist customer.

The costs to make these new textures were supposedly VERY expensive (a 16 megapixel camera was used), and this is daz's way to test the waters for the pro poser/ds user customer base.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

sweetpegster ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 12:46 PM

I understand that the textures are of high quality and all that, but I was asking for some pictures of her rendered in poser. So instead of telling me to go over to daz to look at them, what is the harm in someone whom is willing to post a picture here of her done in poser.

But from your post you best be a pro or maybe this item is over the hobbiest head.

-BrandyE- ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 12:47 PM

those textures are a BIG DEAL..the renders they are capable of...WOW...Like Garee said, they are aimed at the prefessional and realism crowds.  the tchnology behind them alone, is really exciting, and they are fresh, totally high res and exclusive

sweetpegster ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 12:56 PM

again I say what is the big deal of posting a picture. I was looking for pictures, I had nothing to say about the quality of the item.

I echo sweet's call for some Rendo Poser artists who we know and love to show us what they can do with V4 Elite. Okay, it will happen anyway, but here we wait with baited breath... that's all.

Look forward to seeing yours, webster, maybe you'll be the first...

All my posts were done in Poser but here, this is an upcoming shapes package - texture is Lana. There is also one in my gallery here, "Jungle Queen".

LadyMari ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 4:29 PM

Yes, these textures are high quality and such, and I know a great deal of work went into them.  However, from what I am seeing and hearing, they have some major flaws in them as well.  You would think in going to such great lengths that they would have these things fixed before putting them on the market (ie, seams showing up and texture stretching, particularly on the freckled texture).  I would like to purchase the Elite bundle, but I don't want to spend that kind of money on products with such obvious flaws.

gagnonrich ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 4:38 PM

There were a lot of renders in the Platinum Club article at DAZ. The level of quality varied a lot more than I expected, so it's still largely an artist contribution to make the most of the Elite line. It's hard to tell whether the same level of quality couldn't be achieved with other textures in the hands of a skilled Poser or DS artist. The best images are quite nice.

Aeikema, amazingly high detailed textures like this are a major advancement for Poser and DS. No one has every attempted this kind of "pro quality" before, and if you aren't interested in it, then I think you need a break from the poserverse for a while.

I hardly ever use a V character at all, but that doesn't mean I don't want to see advancements like this take place.

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

onimusha ( ) posted Fri, 11 July 2008 at 7:40 PM

I was very disappointed with the morphs... see my other thread.  The textures look good from the renders.  I can't access the ones the put on art zone for some reason though, so I appreciate the renders people have made here...

Sorry this is complete bullshit.  SteffyZ was using, and still is using high end cameras.  Mec3D was doing this a while ago with her textures.  I have 3 photo reference CDs of high quality skin texture photos for 3D use. Wooo Daz used High Res photos and THEN down sampled, yeah nice, most good poser texture artists do that.

there is NOTHING new about what Daz is doing with the 'Elite' line.  3D scans were used oh way back in .....V3 and M3 unimesh design.

Daz's new Human Data Acquisition Center (H.D.A.C.) center is just a 15mega pixel camera and a full body 3d scanner.  Did it cost 50k+? yeah probably.

The stuff the Daz marketting team has come up with on the elite tech info site is just...well infururating when others in this community have done better, long ago and the Daz textures are pretty crappy (love the tan lines and texture stretchin in promo pictures!).

for $99.00 you get 3 textures, 3 morphs a bunch of poses and a shader, but you DON'T get the base figure, the morph++ or any clothing or hair etc, for $99.00 you can get the Pro bundle and get so much more .....and it looks like better quality......if you like V4 and don't think she is garbage to begin with.

Great marketting campain though really funny to watch.

Tashar59 ( ) posted Sat, 12 July 2008 at 4:25 AM

What TIFF's. I don't have any in my full package. I checked every texture to see. All JPEG.

Silke ( ) posted Sat, 12 July 2008 at 5:02 AM

I'm not buying her.
I hardly do closeups and I use V4 as little as possible.
The textures may be good in facial closeups, but those shaders everyone throws at people are  DS shaders ONLY. Not Poser, apparently.
So for Poser users, they already can't use the "Elite" shaders - although the shaders in Poser were there first. My price was somewhere around $50 and sorry, no. I like the way the breasts are now, but quite frankly - how many times are we going to pay for this figure?
A morph++ package, muscle package and now to get natural boobs, an elite package?
I just can't help shake the feeling we're paying for patches lol.

*Sorry to say so but the only ones around here that really need a break are the people at DAZ. This all has been attemptent (and successfully) before, there's nothing new here. All DAZ can do these days is copy others and then sell it as something new. I seriously think they need a break and come up with something really new and innovative as they used to a long time ago.

Because I'm not interest in all this kind of content someone tries to sell me doesn't mean I need a break at all. The poserverse is much much more then the stuff DAZ continually pushes on us. I'm glad this isn't the only side of Poser, poser is very versatile, but that often gets overlooked. I'm suprised that this comment came from someone like you, since you're one of the people who often brings versatility into the poserverse.

If the poserverse would revolve around the V4 only we would be such a pityfull community.

Regarding the texture quality: it is much higher as on everything else I have so far and that includes SteffyZ, Morris and what have you else there. Compared in a graphic program you see the differences very clear but just from looking at small promos you won't. I saw what Morris wrote about the photos she's got for creating the textures and what she said about the photo quality.

And it's not a 15 Megapixels camera but a Hasselblad 39-megapixel digital camera.

I am not buying either, as I think it is overpriced, I don't use studio, and I have lots of  textures already. I may buy the morphs, just becuase I know lots of people will be adding them into their future products, but I don't like them personally and would never use them on their own. But who cares what I think? Just because I don't like them doesn't mean other people aren't allowed to like them either. I don't need a break from Poser because I don't like something either, I am glad it is there for the people who DO like it.  Some of the pictures with the textures look amazing, but so do a million other textures, most of which I already own LOL  I would of bought them all in second though, had they lowered the price or at least given current V4 owners a discount or a bonus voucher or something (but maybe they did and I missed it, DAZ is usually so good about that stuff). Ok, I am done :-)

But in fact the cough, cough H.D.A.C cough, cough didn't have to be re-invented. I already have got two of such centers, but I only call them "eyes".
(Have you already noticed how perfect this "H.D.A.C." fits to "H.D.R.I."  - or is that just my paranoia?)

Read my post on the morphs... they are DEFINITELY not worth it... $15 for three morphs is the biggest ripoff I've seen in Poser in a long time... doesn't matter how good they are when you only get three... they should have made the morphs come with a texture...

LadyMari ( ) posted Sat, 12 July 2008 at 5:50 PM · edited Sat, 12 July 2008 at 5:53 PM

Well, if it is any help, Conniekat8, here is how I reached my own decision NOT to buy the bundle.  1) I don't use Daz Studio so the Elite Shader is of no use to me.  2) Heaven knows I don't need any more pose collections (got far too many as is).  3) At least one of the textures has a major flaw (stretching at the shoulder distortion).

So, I did purchase the morphs (of which you actually get six...three body, three head) which I am perfectly happy with.  I may yet purchase one of the textures, but that will be it.  I really don't need it either though.  I started playing around with bagginsbill's VSS  and Render Studio from RDNA today and am discovering I can get the same type of results (almost as good or even as good, IMO)  as what we are seeing with these new textures.

I spent alot of time thinking about this (and not thoroughly understanding your position) and even though the texture and bump maps look great, for me there's something about the way the eyelids meet the sclera that is really unsettling...that is, of the pics that were posted in this thread...that I was really put off by these images. However that's just my opinion,  my a&&hole.

Sivana ( ) posted Sat, 12 July 2008 at 11:33 PM

@nickedshield
Poser-Studio has a light-manager with whom you can do so much own settings and changes, that I´m sure it works perfect an each scene. The Advanced AO Script reads each object and item from the scene, and so you can decide by yourself if you wand AO for your tree, cat or area.Or figure, hairs, clothes, background. From my point of viw, that is a very useful feature.
I always used the AO Master from face_off, but this script was for the figure only.
I think it´s a good deal and worth the price, at all it´s a speacial offer in the moment.

Elite Budle
It just true, without special offer and perhaps some vourchers, it´s really too expensive. Together with the Dollar to Euro change, I could buy it for a good price.
From my point of view, the poses are not so the best and you can certainly life without the morphes. But I still think the textures are top class.
