Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 18 2:22 am)
After my chain failure, I didn't even attempt this one.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
Aw, c'mon .............. you can do it ... We can help .
Gawsh, now I sound like a commercial for that Home place, don't I? !
cheers,
dr geep
;=]
P.S.ย Besides, you will need an octabox to make the next prop and learn all about magnets, morphs, and many, many more magical magnificent multiple magic objects for use in Poser.
Remember ... "With Poser, all things are possible, and poseable!"

Format seems fine, although I was annoyed at all the crap on the top of the page, which pushes each actual slide below the edge of my screen. I had to keep scrolling down after clicking "next" each time.
Hmm. I'm curious what you're going to use that for. As you haven't demonstrated why we need the polygons precisely like that, I'm mystified as to why go through the effort versus this:
Load a Poser Box.
Set YScale = 12.5%
Set ZScale = 12.5%
Same shape.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

@ nickedshield ... Sorry, don't know why Netscape is not happy ...
@** **Gareee ..... this I GOTTA see ... please post a pic for us ...
@** **bagginsbill ... Thanks for the constructive feedback ... BTW - What screen size do you use?
I have modified a few of the pages ... if you don't mind, please take another quick look and let me know it that is better ... Thanks ...

(Please stay tuned and you'll find out ... :sneaky:ย )
Good question ...
Answer:ย When one starts "building" props (like houses, bridges, etc. then the number of polygons can add up real fast ...** (Please see image above excerpt from the "Magic Box" tutorial) **... and create an unnecessary burden on resources, i.e., RAM.
@ Miss Nancy ... You are absolutely right ... if one is using the "Magic Box" prop which only has 6 polygons and can not be deformed (very much) with a magnet or a wave.ย Please see, also, my reply to bagginsbill above.
Thanks all for the feedback and I'll wait for THAT pic Gareee ...

Your new first page is great. But slide 2 and up has a stretched banner and doesn't fit in 900 pixels.
Poly count plus deforming - got it. A compromise. Interesting. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
I'm mounting my lasers now, Gareeeeee. Yes, they're a bit small for the octabox, but I'm going to order new ones. You just wait.

Worked great, Doctor. Looking forward to seeing what you do with all this next -- and thanks, BTW, for taking the kind of stuff I feel I should know and making it actually knowable...

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to review and comment.
Ok ..........................................ย Got your octabox ready?
We will do some "magic" things with it using only Poser ... ;=].
Here's a hint ... Can you say "magnets" and "morphs?"
