Well, out of the blue, I received the following error on activating DS through Bryce, I do not get the error if I launch DS 2.2 directly.  Anyone know what's going on (other than Marvin Gaye)?

I think I may have installed an item or two from DAZ, but I have not installed any new software that would invoke C++.   Hmmm.

I should note that DS does seem to load and execute, but seems a bit slower...

Did you recently install other software?

PErhaps it's the C runtime library that's been changed to an older or newer version, and incompatible with Bryce. Unlikely, but possible. Even worse, perhaps that library was infected by a virus/spyware. Might want to run a full system, scan with Eset's oonline scanner (free, run it from inside Internet Explorer, see www.eset.com

I'd look to re-install the Visual Studio C runtimes, at download.microsoft.com

Or re-install Bryce to see if the version included with Bryce fixes the issue.

Hello NukeBoy

You should create a file in your bryce directory named:

bryce6.exe.manifest

It should contain the following wich you can put in with notepad:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes'?>

Best Regards

I recently loaded DAZStudio on a machine that didn't have it. During the install it loaded C++ runtime redistributible. I don't have any errors calling studio.

What version of Bryce, Studio, and what computer system are you using?

No new software installs, DS worked fine until the other day.  Good idea about reloading the C redistributables.

Arne:  Sounds like you know something I don't.  What is the purpose of the bryce6.exe.manifest file?

Hi nukeboy

Well i guess it handles the communication and activation of DS and the back and forth communication between DS and Bryce - anyways - i had the same error (as many others) - and at DAZ3D one of the guys suggested the above solution except he called it bryce.exe.manifest - which didn't work - then another guy in another thread here at R someone suggested the above solution with naming it bryce6.exe.manifest which worked like a charm - reinstallation diddn't !!!

Best regards
Arne
