I am playing around with Anim8or to make some props. But when I import the prop into Poser I can 'see through' the item. That effect goes away upon rendering. See how the prop is not fully displayed in the first pic? Then it is in the rendered pic? Does anyone know what's going one here and/or how to fix it? MacXimus

I'm not an expert, but I think it has to do with something about the normals being reversed or something. Someone else will know more about it. I've seen this happen with lots of props I've mported but as long as they render right, I don't really mind. Melanie

I don't use Anim8tor, I use Lightwave, so here is the Lightwave explaination : The polygons you can't see are facing the wrong way, and are not double-sided. Meaning, you can only see the ploys from one side, and it's not the side you're looking at. In LW, you simply select the polys and 'flip', or make the polys double sided. If you can find Anim8tor's version of the 'flip' command, you'll be set. Unless an Anim8tor user comes along a explains it better. Daeve

Flip the polygons (normals, facets)

Simpler, possibly......in Poser select the element, go to display>element>cartoon.....this is what someone suggested for transparent models to aid in positioning. Scarab<-(simpler, definitely)

Scarab, I wondered how that was done. I bought a hair style a while back and it came in looking flat, even though it renders right. I had no idea how they did that. Melanie
