Subject: How do I make Material for the Material room ?

Raindroptheelf ( ) posted Mon, 13 October 2008 at 4:49 AM · edited Tue, 21 January 2025 at 11:21 PM

I bought some Awesome seamless tiles in jpg format here at RMP and I saw in the promo how beautiful they looked on the clothe items used on.

Now I wonder, how can I make them to work in the Material room.
I have tried but it looks horrible, just flat and shiny and does not have the lovely texture anymore.

Can anyone help?

I do hope I have phrased the question correctly.

Oh phewww, I thought I am here and already made an enemy lol.

I have to get used to it all lol.
Thank you so much for letting me know.
Blame it on old age or the weather or PMT.

Are you interested in just creating new library icons for your new textures?  And how are you bringing them into the material room?

yes, I purchased  JPG seamless textures here in the MP I thought they where Materials and I can use them as such.
But they are just jpg's and I need to be able to use them in the Material room to appy to clothes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought that .JPGs were meant to be use with an image editor like photoshop.

Yes, you are right but someon once told me that we can use those to use in the material room  of Poser.
I just do not know how .
Maybe that person was wrong but I would like to find out lol.

Most images used for commercial Poser / D|S product textures are jpg images.

Can you post a link to the product you have and show what you are trying to do with it? And maybe a shot of what you have so far, with your Mat Room setting?

I may not be able to help you myself, but someone surely will if we can see your image, and what you are doing "wrong", if I may put it that way.
