Good show, DrSparky!
More people should skip college until they've done some work first.
By the time you're 30-ish you really know what you want, and you know
how to manipulate the college to get it, rather than vice-versa!

I'd especially like to thank those folks in the poser community - you know how you are :) - that helped with the research for the business project.

In the UK we have to borrow 4k a year from the government to pay for Tution Fees. For that on some courses that'll get you 1 or 2 hours a week classroom or tution time.
Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.
Congratulations Mrsparky!!!!!!

Thanks again everyone - the local paper has put up some video of the ceremony before ours - shows the colours and has an interview with David Suchet (a popular english actor) who got an honourary degree.Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.
*Wow! You were at Uni with Hercule Poirot?
*He got an honorary degree for his acting work at the festival theatre (where the ceremony was held). That ceremony was before ours and a boxer (who no one had ever heard off) got one later as well. We didn't get anyone famous.
I did see Suchet outside the theatre, he looked familar and I thought he was one of the tutors, until I saw todays paper!
Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.
Congrats!!!
But how does one get a Bachelor of Arts after studying IT- Management for Business? I thought one needed to study something art related to get such a degree and not IT / mangament / bussiness related? Am I missing something?
I'm not familiar with the way things work when it comes to degrees in the UK. after all how much can one learn from a country when one only has lived there 2 years? Perhaps someone can explain......

It depends on the course content, areas of study and the institution - like on this course there was more time spent on managerial concepts rather than pure technical subjects. For example.. Information Strategies, E-Business and Business Ethics.
The only technical subject was Advanced Web Design Techniques.
So if the course had more stuff like Advanced Web Design, it would've led to a BSC (Batchelor of Science). You get the honours bit because you do a Disseration.
Theres also vocational based technical courses just below degree level - the HND (Higher National Diploma). You can 'credit' an HND towards a degree course as well via a route known as a Top-Up. Normally topping up still means 2-3 years study, to top up in a year means a good HND and a series of entry interviews. Some uni's make you take entry exams as well.

Congratulations! I had to quit college after a year and a half because I ran out of money. I'm really envious right now. Well done, sir! Well done! <Is that British sounding enough for you?
Or as my Fellow Americans might put it,"Kick ass, Dude! Way to GO!!" LOLOLOLOL I thought there might be a little more to you than a pretty face. Maybe it WAS the beard? (^__^)V,,

Taking "Just do it" to a whole new level!
Thanks for the explanation, sounds like pretty much the same as it is overhere, with the difference that you would major as Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Information Technology, instead of a becoming a Bachelor of Arts.

I know that feeling I tried this about 14 years ago but had to give it up.
The GF[at the time] got knocked off her bike by some jerk driving while on their mobile.
So since then it's been part time study on and off since then.

The team at Vanishing Point would like to congratulate Al Reed for successfully graduating from the University of Chichester with a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) after studying IT- Management for Business.
Known to artists in the Poser Community as mrsparky, Al used Poser content within his thesis on website methodologies for a local Children`s Charity. He also researched the Poser communities and marketplaces to create a original e-commerce model for digital artists.
Considering the economic realities of England at the time, Al left school some 20 years ago, and like 90% of his classmates, entered the workforce with only qualifications gained from part time study. It is an amazing achievement to discover that he completed his degree within a single year.
