Subject: Any suggestions for some sane V4 Office Clothing?

silverthornne ( ) posted Mon, 27 October 2008 at 3:48 PM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 4:38 AM

I was checking through my Runtime, and the only clothes that I have that may not pose problems for a girl in the office are some Kobamax ones that are, unfortunately, lacking in morphs, or a particular outfit called Faith that as my wife puts it, "I don't like it because it makes it look like she has a package down there".

So, I've been searching DAZ3D and Rendo's Marketplace, and just about every "decent" clothing I can find always seems to have some sort of a caveat. A skirt that's just too darn short, a blouse that just doesn't have enough closed buttons, a vest that's far sexier than utilitarian, etc. Maybe I'm just not lucky when I hit that Refresh key in the Marketplace (and don't get me started on the useless search function - both here, and at DAZ3D!)

So anyway, any suggestions for some decent V4 professional outfits that don't have a sexual trick hidden in them?

This is about the most decent dress I've modeled:

The neckline is a bit steep but you could bring it up with a magnet very easily, that is if a strapless knee-length sheath dress is OK.
incidentally that's a fairly thorough clothing modeling tutorial if you're interested in modeling your own...

That looks like a nice dress you're offering for free :)

Not quite what I'm looking for right now, but I'm certainly keeping it for later. The post itself is very interesting to me; maybe I'll finally try to model something for Poser rather than just depend on brokered content...

Dynamic clothing is a good place to start learning modeling, it tends to work best if it's a simple tube or tank-top style of dress without tons of detail like buttons and pockets and zippers (i.e., easier to model).  For your first tries, you may want to not worry about all the extra trims and just get the basic structure done first.

Have you checked 9mbi's clothes? He (or she) has some nice decent clothes for victoria.

Bopper.

Just checked 9mbi's store as well. Lots of great stuff, and some clothing that I can actually picture someone wearing to go to work! Too bad 9mbi doesn't seem to have banners promoting such a great product line littering the site like every fetish vendor seems to have :/

First off you can always mix and match, just because two pieces of clothing are sold together doesn't mean you have to use them together. Toss aside the short skirt and add JeanZ or any of dozens of pants models available.

PoserWorld has lots of everyday clothing items for V4.

If you invest in Crossdresser or Wardrobe Wizard you can convert V3 and A3 items to V4.

I've been compiling an "everyday clothing" list here that you may find helpful:

Royloo over at 3d-arena has several everyday items for nearly every figure. In particular check out SF-5, SF-16, UniSex, Explorer Jacket, and Big Collar BC3. To name just a few. :)
