Subject: Zbrush to Poser Displacement map

artposer ( ) posted Thu, 13 November 2008 at 3:41 AM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 11:46 PM

Can anyone tell me if there is a tutorial for making displacement maps in Zbrush and exporting it for use in Poser?

yeah i have been looking for this for months now.

i think first you need to export the OBJ figure. then import it in zbrush and model.

Yep Thanks I saw that but I don't see what version of Z-brush that is.  2 and 3 are very different I have both versions but rather stick with 3.  $40.00 may be a little stiff without seeing a demo like Gnomon has.  Demos you can see of the tutorials.. Money is tight right now and rather not spend it on something I am not sure of at all.. LOL   Yeh I know I am a cheap Bast#$@!!!

i really think that there is no point in paying money to see how to make a displacement map for pose.r

ice-boy do a tutorial for those of us who aren't savvy about it please.

Just so you know it covers how to move poser characters to and from zbrush, and that has been a real problem for folks, at least according to threads here on it. He goes over creating morphs as well as displacement mapping. I bought it and I'm happy with it. Will be going over it as soon as I get back from Canada.

Sorry didn't mention it's for zbrush 3.1
This guy starts at the beginners level and doesn't assume you know what option to choose or button to push, he tells you. Excellent tutorial.

Well just to let you know I found what seems to be a good one by Meats Miers..He is kind of dificult to follow he is kind of this boy Genuis and he jumps around alot so if it works I am going to translate it in simple terms so that even I can understand it LOL

Marque
Is this the one being sold at Content Paradise at hte above link?

Marque ( ) posted Thu, 13 November 2008 at 8:19 AM

Yes. I think you will like it. You shouldn't have to try to figure out what someone is doing in a tutorial, that's why I like this guy. He starts out with basic stuff, you can move on if you like then gets into the harder stuff but you are prepared for it.

Ok I will certainly take a gander at it,, FYI The method that I found works I just have to profect it
