The key is the Spots node, which goes directly to the Bump input and also
controls the stucco (Noise) via the Blender. The Image Map (not fully visible)
is the underlying brick pattern.
You might want to use a smooth painted surface for the "above" (where I have
the Noise for stucco here) and a rough image for the "below" (where I have the Image
for bricks.)

My ShareCG freebies
hey latex-
take a look at my 'pro shaders" #1 product; you may find a couple of the materials in there do just this. the motherlode and adobe shaders are both designed to tune up into a variety of super distressed materials. blood orange, with some colour tweaks (or just add a concrete image into hte diffuse channel) will also serve you well.
i do also have a very nice cement specific shader coming out in my next pack....when i am home from travels mid-december, i will be glad to share that one w/ you as a freebie!
isn't fallout great!?
s/.
take a look at the 3rd promo image...bottom left hand corner. that is the 'motherlode' MAT....basically a concrete kinda thing w/ reflection to look like rough metallics. it is a pretty complex shader.
change the way the reflection works--and i think you might be pretty close.
good luck and feel free to ping me w/ questions on shaders when i get back!
Synthetic, I looked at your shader offering in the Market place and have added it to my wishlist. I can't get it right now because I've promised myself to hold off on using my credit cards for a few months.

i shouldn't say this: but in the spirit of goodness (don't tell anyone :)) write me and we can see what we can work out :) i'd be glad to help out and it promotes me as a new vendor a bit anyhow.
talk soon,
s/.
ps: yer shader looks good as a start. plug those same nodes into a negative disp map and will look cool.
For fun, some Fallout 3 specific products. A friend is going to make me a coke bottle in Hexagon, but I'm using this plastic soda bottle I found.

I have been helping a friend play Fallout 3 for the Playstation 3. It is a post apocalyptic game set in Washington DC, 200 years after a nuclear war. Everything is destroyed buildings and huge slabs of cement and twisted rebar, junk is strewn all over what remains of the floors. I got inspired to put together an image based on the game play and I really need a floor and wall shader that looks like cracked, broken, pock-marked cement. My current floor cement shader is 'too pristine' for the environment I'm trying to simulate. If there anyway to add strewn, yellowed papers to the floor without adding additional props, please help me. The picture is already prop heavy and my computer is choking.
Thanks to anybody who can give me a hand with this!
