Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 20 6:12 am)
Poser 6 and 7 on Vista 64 bit, no issues at all!
I can't understand anyone going for 32 bit if they're buying new, 32 bit is dead, 64 is the way to go, all major manufacturers now have 64 bit drivers, there's no reason in the World not to go 64 bit and every reason why you should!
Injustice will be avenged.

Poser 7 has the 'large address aware' thing turned on by default and will therefore use up to 3Gb RAM if available under a 32-bit OS (XP or Vista).
You'll need to fork out for Poser Pro if you want to take maximum advantage of a 64-bit OS, at least for FireFly rendering.
Also consider that Photoshop CS4 is 64-bit capable under Windows Vista64, the main advantage being the ability to access large amounts of RAM (I handle image files in the 500Mb - 1Gb size range on a daily basis).

I'm sure this has been covered here before, but I'd like some opinions. I'm buying a new laptop, and the guy at the store said I probably need to buy one running a 32-bit instead of 64...to avoid the problems I've heard of some having with Poser. So...is Poser compatible with a 64-bit operation?
I only have have Poser 4..I know...WAAAAY back...but I'm ordering Poser 7. I've also wondered if as a hobbyist who finally has more time to spend on it, I might just be as well off getting Poser 6 as I've heard that it's a lot more stable.
Suggestions??..pleeeease?
Thanks, Beav
